About the role

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join the team at Vicente T. Lao Construction. This is a full-time position based in Cabuyao City. Laguna, where you will play a crucial role in the successful delivery of construction projects. As Project Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing technical aspects of project execution, ensuring quality standards are met, and facilitating effective communication between all stakeholders. This position is integral to our commitment to delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of excellence.

What you'll be doing

• Monitor and supervise day-to-day construction activities on site to ensure compliance with project specifications, drawings and quality standards

• Conduct regular site inspections and prepare detailed reports documenting project progress, issues and resolutions

• Review and interpret technical drawings, specifications and project documentation to facilitate accurate project execution

• Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services

• Document and track project milestones, schedules and resource allocation to maintain project timeline adherence

• Identify and resolve technical issues and conflicts that may arise during construction execution

• Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation including daily logs, meeting minutes and correspondence

• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations on all construction sites

• Liaise with project managers, clients and other stakeholders to provide regular updates on project status

• Support the planning and implementation of project procedures and best practices

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline

• Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a Project Engineer or similar role in the construction industry

• Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, building codes and industry standards

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and construction specifications

• Excellent project management and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with diverse teams

• Proficiency in relevant software such as AutoCAD, Microsoft Project or similar project management tools

• Sound understanding of health, safety and environmental compliance requirements

• Problem-solving ability and attention to detail in technical documentation and site oversight

• Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to project sites as required

• Professional certification or licensure in engineering is highly desirable
