About the role
Remote Technical Construction & Surveying Assistant providing versatile on-demand support across operational and administrative workflows. This is a project-based casual role with flexible hours during Australian business hours (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM AEST / 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM Manila Time), with the opportunity to transition into a fixed part-time or full-time retainer as workload increases.
Key responsibilities
- Produce and revise 2D/3D plans, site markups, civil layouts, permit documentation, and variations using AutoCAD, Revit, or Bluebeam
- Review technical documentation, collate compliance paperwork, track regulatory approvals, lodge council permits/applications, and liaise with authorities and clients
- Manage and execute monthly BAM lodgements, navigate permit tracking systems (Hyperflo), verify council lodgement fees are processed, ensure corresponding client invoices are generated and paid in Xero, and issue payment reminders for outstanding accounts
- Measure plan quantities, calculate material take-offs (concrete, earthworks, timber, steel), and assist in compiling trade schedules and client quotes
- Draft trade contractor agreements, issue work orders, follow up on signed contracts, and track product specifications and supplier lead times
- Create clear, step-by-step Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), maintain follow-up schedules for the Project Coordinator and Site Supervisor, and monitor site timelines
- Utilise construction management software (such as Buildertrend or BuildPass) to lodge live project updates, coordinate site progress, and issue follow-ups to various trades
- Enter supplier and subcontractor invoices, cross-reference delivery dockets against purchase orders, and maintain clean reconciliations across multiple business entities
About you
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management
- Competent in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Xero
- Experience with Hyperflo, Buildertrend, BuildPass, or Revit is highly regarded
- Familiarity with Victorian building regulations, VBA reporting, monthly BAM lodgements, NCC/BCA compliance, council approval processes, or civil standards is strongly preferred
- High-level professional English communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Highly motivated to think outside the box, challenge existing workflows, and proactively suggest creative ideas and solutions to streamline systems and procedures
- Strong analytical mindset, meticulous attention to detail, strict integrity with time tracking, and ability to execute tasks with minimal supervision
