Job summary

Bodycote plc is seeking a senior manager to oversee Production and Logistics, ensuring quality compliance and customer satisfaction. You will lead cross‑functional teams, implement safety, quality, and environmental initiatives, and drive continuous improvement in productivity and shipping operations.

The role requires at least 5 years in automotive production/logistics process control, strong knowledge of Lean manufacturing, ERP systems, and international standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in automotive production and logistics process control.
  • English proficiency to interact with management and participate in customer conference calls.
  • Knowledge of IATF 16949, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and Lean Manufacturing principles.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure customer and stakeholder satisfaction by planning and utilizing equipment, resources, and personnel in Production and Logistics.
  • Coordinate Production Supervisors and Logistics personnel.
  • Ensure compliance with standards, customer requirements, and company policies through leadership and risk analysis.
  • Lead and communicate policies related to Quality, Safety, and Environmental Management Systems.

Job description

Summary: Responsible for ensuring production and logistics operations meet quality standards and company objectives while guaranteeing compliance with customer requirements related to production, warehousing, and shipping. Has the authority to stop processes when risks or nonconformities are identified.

Essential Job Functions (Duties and Responsibilities): The primary duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Ensure customer and stakeholder satisfaction by applying strategic planning and a results-oriented approach in the effective utilization of equipment, resources, and personnel assigned to the Production and Logistics areas.
  • Coordinate Production Supervisors and Logistics personnel.
  • Ensure compliance with international standards, customer-specific requirements, and company policies through leadership, cross-functional coordination, risk analysis, and the provision of necessary resources to achieve Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Environmental objectives.
  • Lead, promote, and communicate international, corporate, customer-specific, and internal policies related to Quality, Safety, and Environmental Management Systems.
  • Ensure compliance with Production and Logistics procedures and controls, reporting results to the Plant Manager/General Manager.
  • Identify, document, monitor, report, and control risks and impacts affecting product and process integrity related to Safety, Environmental Management, Quality, Production, and Logistics.
  • Promote effective communication and actively lead meetings related to Safety, Environmental Management, Quality, Productivity, and Customer Service.
  • Ensure and demonstrate continuous improvement in organizational performance regarding safety, productivity, logistics, cost, quality, and environmental performance.
  • Lead problem-solving activities and preventive actions related to key performance indicators.
  • Coordinate cross-functional resources and efforts required to meet receiving, warehousing, production, and shipping requirements on time.
  • Identify training needs and provide Production and Logistics personnel with training in Quality, Safety, and Environmental matters.
  • Promote continuous improvement ideas within Production and Logistics.
  • Lead by example in achieving Quality, Safety, Product, Process, Quality Management System (QMS), and Environmental Management System (EMS) performance indicators.
  • Establish standards for implementing and promoting the 5S methodology.
  • Ensure and coordinate cross-functional efforts to protect infrastructure, equipment, customer property, and documented information.
  • Ensure production schedules and shipping plans are fulfilled according to customer requirements.
  • Oversee ERP systems, labeling systems, and logistics communication with customers.
  • Ensure proper administration and maintenance of mobile equipment used in logistics.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.

Languages: English proficiency sufficient to interact with management and executive leadership and participate in customer conference call

  • Ability to develop procedures and work instructions to ensure compliance with process/product objectives and technical specifications.
  • Ability to monitor and follow up on technical information.
  • Ability to apply Lean Manufacturing tools.

Software Knowledge: Microsoft Office, Bases de Datos.

Technical Knowledge:
  • Basic knowledge of Metallurgy.
  • Knowledge of IATF 16949 and ISO 9001.
  • Knowledge of ISO 14001.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Knowledge of customer‑specific requirements.
  • Knowledge of labeling software.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems.
  • Knowledge of customer communication systems.
  • Knowledge of maintenance management for mobile equipment.
Physical and Mental Requirements:

  • Ability to work while sitting and standing for extended periods (office and industrial environment).
  • Ability to enter data using computer equipment.
  • Ability to bend, pull, push, hold, and reach.
  • Ability to lift 10–25 kg (22–55 lbs.).
  • Ability to work in environments with varying temperatures, vapors, noise, humidity, and similar conditions.
  • Ability to observe, read documents, and view computer monitors and display screens.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person and by telephone.
Mental Requirements:
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Cognitive ability to perform the essential functions of the position.
