Responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate, and recommend changes or improvements in operational process, procedures, and equipment and provide analysis to support these changes
• Review production schedules, engineering specifications, process flows, and other information to understand methods and activities in manufacturing and services
• Figure out how to manufacture parts or products, or deliver services, with maximum efficiency
• Apply statistical methods and perform mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, staff requirements, and production standards.
• Coordinate quality control objectives and activities to resolve production problems, maximize product reliability, and minimize cost.
• Eliminate or reduce waste in production and related processes (applies lean manufacturing tools and techniques, six sigma, etc.).
• Develops methods that will be used to accomplish all of the tasks involved in production, QA, including devising systems for quality control, distribution, and inventory.
• Determines the functions and responsibilities of workers and devises and implements evaluation procedures; recommends methods for improving employee efficiency.
• Evaluates potential for or actual physical harm throughout production processes; redesigns, relocates, or replaces equipment, as necessary.
