FURUKAWA ELECTRIC THERMAL MANAGEMENT SOLUTIONS AND PRODUCTS LAGUNA, INC. is seeking a Production Engineer to monitor, supervise, and improve production operations for maximum efficiency and quality.
You will coach team members, troubleshoot defects, and implement process improvements across SOPs. You will analyze KPIs, prepare reports for management, lead daily reviews with HOAs, and drive continuous quality assurance.
Position Summary:
The Production Engineer is responsible for monitoring, supervising, and improving production operations to ensure optimal efficiency and quality. This role involves overseeing production activities, coaching team members, troubleshooting defects, and implementing process improvements to enhance output and yield.
Scope and Responsibilities:
Production Performance and Quality Improvement Management
Continuously monitor and analyze Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to evaluate production performance, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
Consolidate KPI results into detailed reports for management review, providing insights and recommendations for performance enhancement.
Conduct regular meetings with Heads of Area (HOA) to discuss daily production results, performance targets, and strategic initiatives to address any discrepancies or challenges.
Oversee hourly and daily production outputs to ensure alignment with production schedules, proactively addressing any issues that may impact efficiency or quality.
Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and implement improvements in Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), aiming to enhance productivity, yield, and overall operational efficiency.
Conduct thorough Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) to address and prevent quality defects, ensuring that corrective actions are implemented effectively.
Assist in troubleshooting and resolving production issues, facilitating smooth operations and minimizing downtime.
Evaluate and address quality defects by implementing corrective measures, ensuring that all products meet established quality standards.
Monitor adherence to SOPs and assist in continuous quality assurance practices, promoting a culture of quality within the production team.
Provide support in identifying and troubleshooting defects to maintain consistent quality output, fostering a proactive approach to quality control.
Team Supervision and Development
Supervise and coach a team of leaders and engineers, fostering skill development, collaboration, and a positive team environment.
Prepare and manage work schedules to ensure optimal staff coverage and effective allocation of resources, aligning workforce availability with production needs.
Lead and participate in regular production meetings, effectively communicating updates, issues, and improvement plans to the team.
Collaborate with other groups and departments to align on production goals, share best practices, and address operational challenges collectively.
Prepare and present comprehensive KPI reports, consolidating results and insights to facilitate strategic decision-making and continuous improvement efforts.
Check and adjust production schedules as necessary to ensure that targets are met efficiently, responding to any changes in demand or operational capacity.
Ensure that materials and resources are available and ready for production, coordinating with inventory control to manage material availability and quality upon delivery.
Other Related Tasks
Perform additional duties as assigned to support the Production team and ensure efficient operations.
Assist with special projects or initiatives related to Production team as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or any related field.
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a production engineering role or similar capacity within a manufacturing environment.
Proven track record of monitoring and analyzing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to drive production efficiency and quality improvements.
Experience in leading or participating in process improvement projects, utilizing methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma.
Demonstrated experience in supervising and developing teams, including training and mentoring staff to enhance performance and skill sets.
Familiarity with quality control processes, tools, and techniques, including experience in troubleshooting defects and conducting Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA).
Experience working collaboratively with various departments, such as quality assurance, inventory control, and maintenance, to achieve production goals.
