Job summary

Prysmian Group in the Philippines seeks a qualified Manufacturing/Process Engineer to own technical aspects of assigned product lines, maintaining specs, BOMs, and documentation, and driving ECOs and product changes. You will lead NPI support, process optimization, and cross‑functional collaboration with production, quality, and maintenance teams.

The role emphasizes Lean Six Sigma, problem solving, and adherence to ISO 9001, with a strong manufacturing floor presence and continuous improvement

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering.
  • 3–5 years in manufacturing, product engineering, process engineering, or industrialization.
  • Experience in extrusion, injection molding, cable, plastics, automotive or related industries preferred.
  • Proficient in PLM and manufacturing processes; SAP experience.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary technical owner for assigned product lines. Maintain product specifications, technical drawings, standards, and manufacturing requirements.
  • Manage Bills of Materials (BOMs), product master data, and engineering documentation within ERP systems.
  • Lead product qualification, product changes, and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and product transfer projects.
  • Act as the technical liaison between customers, commercial teams, production, and quality functions.
  • Provide technical analysis and resolution for product-related customer complaints and non‑conformances.
  • Ensure compliance with customer specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Define, document, and optimize manufacturing processes to ensure safe, efficient, and repeatable production.
  • Develop and maintain process parameters, routings, work instructions, control plans, and standard operating procedures.
  • Monitor process capability and implement improvements to reduce variation, scrap, and downtime.
  • Conduct process validation activities for new products, equipment, tooling, and manufacturing methods.
  • Lead root cause investigations for process‑related issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Support equipment selection, commissioning, qualification, and process acceptance activities.
  • Work closely with Maintenance, Production, and Quality teams to improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
  • Lead Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and productivity improvement initiatives.
  • Perform process capability studies, statistical analysis, and performance trending.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for cost reduction, waste elimination, and efficiency improvements.
  • Participate in Value Stream Mapping, 5S, and operational excellence programs.
  • Support digitalization and automation initiatives where applicable.
  • Quality & Compliance: Support Quality Management System (QMS) requirements and compliance activities.
  • Develop and maintain Process FMEAs, Control Plans, Risk Assessments, and Process Flow Diagrams.
  • Participate in internal, customer, and third‑party audits.
  • Ensure product and process documentation remains accurate, current, and audit‑ready.
  • Support implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and other applicable management system requirements.
  • Health, Safety & Environment: Ensure all engineering activities comply with company Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements.
  • Conduct risk assessments for new processes, products, equipment, and materials.
  • Support safe work practices and continuous improvement of workplace safety performance.
  • Participate in incident investigations and implementation of preventive measures.
  • Promote sustainability and environmental compliance within production processes.

Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in manufacturing, product engineering, process engineering, or industrialization roles.
    • Experience supporting product development, process optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Experience in manufacturing environments such as extrusion, injection molding, cable, plastics, automotive, or related industries is preferred.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong understanding of product lifecycle management and manufacturing processes.
    • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP.
    • Knowledge of BOM management, routings, and engineering change management.
    • Proficiency in problem‑solving methodologies including FMEA, Root Cause Analysis, 5 Why, Fishbone Analysis, SPC Control Plans.
    • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
    • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and manufacturing documentation.
