The Product Manager supports in the development of the strategic direction and delivering the business objectives in line with the overall business strategies. Furthermore, the role proactively identifies and drives initiatives to meet customer/business needs and requirements and manages relationships with the customers and principals.
The Product Manager must be able to identify and capitalize growth opportunities for the business and its role carries with it significant responsibility for designing and implementing the Business Development (BD) Strategy and ensuring the achievement of relevant activities and targets.
Responsibilities
SALES PERFORMANCE
- Ensures effective product and cycle plans, strategies and marketing promotions.
- Coordinates with Inventory Control and purchasing department to ensure availability of stocks and inventory requirements
EVOLUTION INDEX PERFORMANCE
- Rallies team members to generate growth vs industry via regular monitoring of product performance vs plan and competition through market research data, internal sales data, field force feedback and other means
- Formulates plans, strategies, tactics to meet evolution index targets
- Ensures development and effective implementation of promotions/marketing programs to achieve desired market share
- Identifies problems and opportunities relevant to product, market and take appropriate corrective measures
- Evaluates effectiveness of marketing plans
- Monitors competitive price movements and decides on appropriate price adjustments
- Devise promotional programs / trade deals per plan to ensure attainment of the overall profitability of product sales performance
- Reviews and control marketing expenses in compliance with corporate policies, rules, and regulations.
STRATEGIC MARKETING & BRAND MANAGEMENT
- Develops strategic partnerships with key prescribers, focusing on Oncology specialities as well as other assigned specialised fields, to understand and anticipate business needs and support customer goals through commercial collaboration, advocacy, and other customer segment/brand strategic initiatives in collaboration with global brand team.
- Understand, document and continuously evaluate external market influencers and trends within assigned geography (e.g. legislation, payers, key opinion leaders, professional organizations, channel partners, group purchasing organizations and other large influential stakeholders)
- Acquire and apply expertise in brand/segment strategy and tactics, product knowledge, contracting and pricing platforms to gain/maintain customer agreement for product, services and solutions.
- Develop and coordinate physician advocates for promoted oncology focus product(s)
- Plan and support essential field activities including but not limited to round table meetings, attend tumor boards and medical symposiums to generate leads and develops key opinion leaders
BUSINESS ANALYTICS & TERRITORIAL PLANNING
- Effectively utilize internal/external customer and market data sources (e.g. IMS data, direct/indirect wholesales sales, contract performance) to identify quantitative trends, create marketing insights to formulate sales strategy, develop sales forecasts, and proactively communicate outputs.
- Create efficient and effective territory plans for assigned customers and key contact types while consistently meeting customer engagement goals
- Ensure systematic flow of information to the key operating director on competition, new customers and feedback in order to enhance market knowledge and contribute to decisions concerning company products/market.
- Evaluates new product opportunities and conduct market intelligence analysis to support business development and marketing portfolio objectives
- Development of complete strategic business plans and ensure successful execution of product launch to gain immediate share of the market
Requirements
- College degree required.Concentration in Marketing, Business, or Communications preferred.
- Bachelor's degree with 5 to 7 years of directly related experience.
- Substantial and relevant sales and marketing experience
- Strong leadership and consensus building skills; marketing management and strategic planning experience; a proven track record in developing and administering a marketing program
- A proven track record in Oncology is highly preferred
- Experience in Access Projects is a significant advantage
