Job summary

Copeland is seeking an Engineer 1, Product Environmental Compliance to ensure and maintain product compliance with global environmental laws such as EU REACH, RoHS, and Conflict Minerals. The role involves evaluating product BOMs, issuing conformity declarations, and coordinating with suppliers to gather material declarations.

You will participate in supporting growth platforms while aligning with the department’s compliance targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science or equivalent.
• 1-2 years of relevant work experience.
• Working knowledge of Materials, Chemicals, and Environmental laws and regulations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications such as Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Conduct assessment of bill of materials for customer requests.
• Issue a declaration letter for products completely assessed against requested legislations.
• Conduct supplier outreach for material declaration submission.
• Interpret and verify supplier material declaration submissions before they are loaded into the system.
• Perform regular meetings with the business unit point of contact to discuss the action registry, compliance status, and targets.
