Job summary

Dempsey Resource Management seeks a data-driven Material Compliance Specialist to support supplier data collection, analysis, and reporting. You will interpret MSDS, engineering drawings, and material specifications to identify and report regulated substances, driving environmental compliance across projects.

The role collaborates with product development, design, manufacturing, sourcing, and quality teams, delivering dashboards and trackers that track KPIs and continuous improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Environmental, or Materials Engineering.
• Fresh graduates or 1–2 years in material compliance.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and MSDS.
• Proficient with Google Suite applications.

Responsibilities

• Initiate and manage data collection campaigns to gather material data from suppliers, analyze and validate supplier-submitted information.
• Apply part material breakdown and chemical composition knowledge to identify potential compliance issues and report regulated substances to the team leader.
• Interpret MSDS and engineering drawings to support restricted substances analysis.
• Review engineering drawings and material specifications to create full material declaration boilerplate with accurate breakdown of homogeneous materials and chemical substances.
• Design and create detailed environmental compliance trackers and dashboards, reporting compliance status, KPIs and improvement areas.
• Collaborate with commodity managers to resolve supplier issues.
• Collaborate with third‑party project managers to manage environmental compliance tool and develop improvements.

• Strong background in material compositions and properties of chemical compounds
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and material data sheets
• Proficient with Google Suite applications (Sheets, Docs, Gmail, Drive, Slides, etc.)
• Basic programming knowledge, able to create macros in Google Apps Script
