Job summary

Merck Group in Manila seeks a Product Costing Accountant to manage daily costing for new materials and ensure SLA/KPIs are met, with a focus on standard cost variance analysis and cost simulations.

The role requires a 4+ year background in financial accounting and product costing, SAP CO costing experience, and a willingness to work in Taguig’s BGC on a hybrid schedule (2 days on-site weekly). Night shift availability is needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field.
• Solid knowledge in financial accounting, product costing and management accounting.
• Minimum 4 years experience; SAP CO Product Costing knowledge required.
• Willing to be based in BGC, Taguig at least 2 times a week and to work night shift.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily product costing for new materials and ensure compliance with SLA/KPIs.
• Support investigation and analysis of standard cost variance for local counterparts.
• Communicate errors in costing activities to relevant parties.
• Run and document costing simulations.
• Perform annual costing activities and timely marking/releasing of materials.
• Create and update work instructions and documentation.
• Engage in audit tasks and regression testing as needed.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of costing processes.
• Establish collaborative relationships with stakeholders.

Your Role:

Product Costing Accountant responsibilities will include, but not limited to the following:

• Perform daily product costing for new materials and ensure compliance with SLA/KPIs
• Support in the investigation and analysis of standard cost variance as requested by local counterparts
• Communicate to relevant parties the errors encountered in the costing activities
• Run and document costing simulations
• Perform and document annual costing activities and ensure timely marking and releasing of materials
• Create and update work instructions and documentations
• Engage in ad-hoc activities such as internal and external audit, key user tasks and regression testing, etc.
• Practice continuous improvement mindset to contribute to process excellence initiatives
• Establish a collaborative working relationship with stakeholders

Who You Are:

• Bachelor’s degree holder in finance, accounting or any related field required
• Solid Financial accounting, Product Costing and Management accounting knowledge required – Minimum of 4 years experience
• Knowledge or hands‑on experience in manufacturing processes, product cost calculation and material master data
• Experience within a Shared Services Center preferred
• Experience in SAP CO Product Costing module
• Profound knowledge in MS Office Tools
• Willing to be based in BGC, Taguig at least 2 times a week
• Amenable to work on a night shift schedule
