Job summary

MatchaTalent is seeking a Procurement Coordinator for an on-site role in Papua New Guinea. You will coordinate end-to-end procurement, manage POs, and work with operations, logistics, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery within budget.

You will review requisitions, source quotations, and support commercial negotiations while leveraging ERP systems and MS Office. Strong English and governance experience are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business, Commerce, or related discipline.
• 3–5 years procurement experience in mining, construction, heavy industry or operational environments.
• Strong understanding of end-to-end procurement processes, purchasing administration, supplier management, and governance.
• Experience using ERP procurement systems and Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong commercial awareness with negotiation and supplier relationship management capabilities.
• Experience coordinating logistics, freight, inventory replenishment, or import/export activities is advantageous.
• CIPS certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the complete procurement lifecycle from requisition to PO, delivery, receipt, and close-out.
• Review requisitions for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with policies.
• Source quotations and perform market comparisons for value.
• Support negotiations on pricing, delivery schedules, and terms.
• Raise and monitor Purchase Orders using ERP/procurement systems.
• Track supplier progress and expedite procurement activities to minimize delays.
• Coordinate PO amendments and maintain accurate procurement docs.
• Build relationships with suppliers, freight providers, and service vendors.
• Coordinate supplier onboarding, qualification, and performance monitoring.
• Resolve supplier issues relating to quality, delivery, invoicing and contractual compliance.
• Coordinate logistics activities including shipment scheduling, freight, customs docs, and import coordination.
• Collaborate with warehouse/ops to monitor inventory and replenishment planning.
• Assist Finance by matching POs, invoices, and goods receipts; resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain procurement records and support audits.
• Identify improvements to processes, efficiency, and cost effectiveness.
