Job summary

Philux, Inc. is seeking a Materials Planner and Procurement specialist to translate demand forecasts into material requirements, maintain planning parameters, and coordinate with Production on schedules.

The role includes executing purchase requisitions and managing supplier communications to ensure timely procurement of raw materials and indirect supplies. The candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 3-5 years of experience in materials planning and procurement, plus

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Business, or related field.
• 3-5 years experience in materials planning and procurement in manufacturing or trading environments
• Proven exposure to supplier management and multi-source supply chains
• Strong ERP systems knowledge (Odoo or equivalent preferred).

Responsibilities

• Translate demand forecasts and production requirements into material requirements plans.
• Maintain planning parameters such as lead times, safety stock levels, and reorder points.
• Monitor material requirements and identify shortages or supply gaps.
• Coordinate with Production to align material requirements with production schedules.
• Execute purchase requisitions and purchase orders based on approved material plans.
• Manage procurement cycles from order placement through supplier confirmation and follow-through.
• Ensure timely ordering of raw materials and indirect supplies to support operational requirements.
• Maintain accuracy, completeness, and compliance of procurement documentation and transactions.
• Manage day-to-day communication with suppliers regarding orders, deliveries, and scheduling.
• Follow up on purchase orders to ensure supplier commitment adherence.
• Monitor supplier delivery performance and escalation.
• Maintain updated visibility of approved and secondary supplier options per material category.
• Develop and maintain a qualified alternative supplier base for critical and high-risk materials.
• Identify and evaluate potential alternative suppliers to reduce supply concentration risk.
• Support supplier onboarding processes including initial qualification, documentation, and coordination with internal stakeholders.
• Maintain updated visibility of approved and secondary supplier options per material category.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain Operations on supply risk signals requiring alternative sourcing activation.
• Ensure continuous availability of materials required for production operations.
• Identify supply risks related to lead times, supplier capacity, and material constraints.
• Implement mitigation actions through supplier coordination and alternative sourcing options.
• Escalate critical supply risks that may impact production continuity.
• Support cost efficiency through supplier comparison, sourcing options, and procurement optimization.
• Monitor material price trends and supply market conditions.
• Ensure procurement decisions align with approved budgets and cost targets.
• Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier data, and delivery performance inputs.
• Provide regular procurement performance updates to management.
• Support supply chain reporting through accurate material availability and supplier data inputs.
• Coordinate with Production on material requirements and production schedules.
• Provide material availability updates and constraints to Supply Chain Operations.
