Job summary

Sumitomo Electric Group in the Philippines seeks a BS Engineering graduate with experience in Electronics/FPC manufacturing to join our process improvement team on site in Laguna.

You will analyze production data (SPC), troubleshoot equipment and defects, develop SOPs, and collaborate across production, quality, and design to drive yield and lean initiatives. The role emphasizes continuous improvement, cost reduction, and standardization; shift schedule is required.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree in engineering or related field.
• Experience in Electronics/FPC manufacturing.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
• Nice to have background in root cause analysis, FMEA, and statistical tools.

Responsibilities

• Analyze production data (e.g., SPC) to identify bottlenecks and improve efficiency on SMT lines.
• Diagnose and resolve equipment malfunctions and defects to ensure quality.
• Develop and maintain SOPs, process instructions, and safety docs.
• Collaborate with production, quality, and design teams to ensure smooth workflow.

• Not a requirement but an advantage if has background on: (1) root cause analysis, (2) FMEA, (3) statistical analysis, and other Problem solving tools
• Willing to work on shifting schedule

Core Functions and Responsibilities:

• Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement: Analyzes production data (using SPC) to identify bottlenecks, reduce waste, and enhance efficiency in assembly lines like SMT (Surface Mount Technology).
• Troubleshooting & Quality Control: Acts quickly to diagnose and resolve equipment malfunctions or product defects, ensuring finished products meet strict quality specifications.
• Documentation & Standardization: Develops and maintains standard operating procedures (SOPs), process instructions, and safety documentation.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Works with production, quality, and design teams to ensure seamless production flow.
