Job summary

Elastic seeks a Principal Product Manager to be the primary product voice for its Security enterprise customers. You will own the relationship with strategic accounts, manage a breadth of enhancement requests, and translate customer needs into a coherent product direction across product areas.

Qualifications

• 7-10 years of product management experience, with 4+ years in enterprise software.
• Experience with named strategic accounts is a solid plus.
• Hands-on knowledge of security operations platforms is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Own the enhancement request pipeline across multiple strategic enterprise accounts and maintain a structured system to track, prioritize, and respond to requirements.
• Translate customer requirements into shipped products by focusing on customer pain points and synthesizing input from many accounts.
• Turn account input into successful products and shape patterns into formal partnerships for design.
• Feed validated customer patterns back into core roadmaps and influence direction beyond the accounts you cover.
• Serve as the primary product voice in meetings with senior stakeholders (CISO, CTO, VP of Security Operations) and deliver roadmap updates.
• Prioritize requirements using frameworks like RICE and weighted scoring with clear data and judgment.
• Collaborate with product and engineering leads to write actionable requirements and assess feasibility.
• Support deal cycles via RFP responses, security questionnaires, and roadmap presentations to prospects.
• Navigate tensions between customer expectations and internal roadmap decisions and manage communications accordingly.
• Create artifacts such as roadmap trackers and decision memos to provide visibility without unnecessary meetings.
• Advocate for customer needs while balancing broader market interests.
