Job summary

Teamified seeks a Principal Software Engineer to set technical direction while remaining deeply hands-on. You will work across two product squads, shaping architecture, mentoring engineers, and delivering high-impact initiatives in Laravel, Next.js, and AWS/GCP environments.

You will drive design decisions, ensure scalable, observable systems, and champion engineering excellence across the platform.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in software engineering, SaaS経験者歓迎
• Deep expertise in backend engineering with Laravel and PHP8+, SQL and RESTful APIs
• Strong frontend design and architectural experience with React/Next.js
• Experience with scalable, secure cloud infrastructure (AWS)
• Familiarity with event-driven or modular architectures and containers (Kubernetes)
• Deep understanding of testing strategies and CI/CD pipelines
• Bonus: Looker/BigQuery/ML pipelines/distributed systems tuning

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture and technical direction for core platform domains.
• Spend 60-80% time hands-on: designing, coding, reviewing, pairing, debugging.
• Lead technical discovery and delivery of high-impact initiatives across squads.
• Define and evangelize architectural principles, coding standards, and patterns.
• Mentor senior and mid-level engineers through reviews and pairing.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and guide pragmatic adoption.
• Contribute to roadmap planning, estimation and trade-off decisions.
• Work across both product squads focusing on cross-cutting systems.

AboutTheRole

AsaPrincipalSoftwareEngineeratRosterfy,youarethemostseniorindividualcontributorintheengineeringteam,responsibleforsettingtechnicaldirectionwhilestayingdeeplyhands-on.Youworkacrossourtwoproductsquadsasaforcemultiplier:designingarchitecture,pairingonhardproblems,andunblockingdeliveryoncriticalinitiatives.ReportingtotheHoE,youconnectproductstrategytoimplementationdetail,ensuringtheclients'v3(event-driven,domain-driven,AI-augmented)isrobust,scalable,andmaintainableacrossourPHP/Laravelbackend,Next.jsfrontend,andAWS/GCPinfrastructure.Youspendasignificantportionofyourtimebuilding(coding,reviewing,debugging,pairing)whilealsoshapingengineeringstandards,architecture,andlong-termplatformevolution.Youdonotmanagepeopledirectly;instead,youleadthroughtechnicalexcellence,influence,andmentoring.

KeyResponsibilities

• Ownthearchitectureandtechnicaldirectionforcoreplatformdomainsusedbybothsquads(e.g.event-drivenworkflows,modularboundaries,AIcapabilities).
• Spend60-80%ofyourtimehands-on:designing,coding,reviewing,pairing,anddebugginginLaravel,Next.jsandourcloudenvironments.
• Leadthetechnicaldiscoveryanddeliveryofhigh-impactinitiatives,especiallythosethatcrossteamboundariesorrequiresignificantarchitecturalchange.

• Mentorseniorandmid-levelengineersthroughdesignreviews,pairing,andfeedback,helpingthemownsystemsend-to-endratherthantakingworkaway.
• Evaluateandprototypeemergingtechnologies(e.g.VertexAI,GenAIworkflows,datapipelines)andguidepragmaticadoptionintoproductandplatform.
