Teamified is seeking a Senior Principal Software Engineer to define technical direction for core platforms, while staying deeply hands-on across Laravel, Next.js, and cloud infrastructure. You will influence product alignment with scalable architecture and mentor engineers to raise engineering standards.

The role emphasizes leadership by example, strong communication, and a passion for delivering robust, scalable SaaS solutions for a global client base.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in software engineering, with senior staff/architect experience in SaaS
• Deep expertise in backend with Laravel (Laravel10+ and PHP8+) or similar
• Strong frontend architectural experience with React/Next.js

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture and technical direction for core platform domains used by both squads.
• Spend 60-80% of time hands-on: designing, coding, reviewing, pairing, debugging in Laravel, Next.js and cloud environments.
• Lead the technical discovery and delivery of high-impact initiatives across team boundaries or those requiring architectural change.
• Mentor senior and mid-level engineers through design reviews, pairing, and feedback.
• Act as a senior engineering voice in roadmap planning, estimation and trade-off decisions.
• Work across both product squads focusing on cross-cutting systems and the hardest technical problems.
• Partner with Engineering Leadership on long-term architecture and with Tech Leads on execution and engineering practices.

AboutTheRole

AsaPrincipalSoftwareEngineeratRosterfy,youarethemostseniorindividualcontributorintheengineeringteam,responsibleforsettingtechnicaldirectionwhilestayingdeeplyhands-on.Youworkacrossourtwoproductsquadsasaforcemultiplier:designingarchitecture,pairingonhardproblems,andunblockingdeliveryoncriticalinitiatives.ReportingtotheHoE,youconnectproductstrategytoimplementationdetail,ensuringtheclient'sv3(event-driven,domain-driven,AI-augmented)isrobust,scalable,andmaintainableacrossourPHP/Laravelbackend,Next.jsfrontend,andAWS/GCPinfrastructure.Youspendasignificantportionofyourtimebuilding(coding,reviewing,debugging,pairing)whilealsoshapingengineeringstandards,architecture,andlong-termplatformevolution.Youdonotmanagepeopledirectly;instead,youleadthroughtechnicalexcellence,influence,andmentoring.

KeyResponsibilities
