Job summary

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to lead the design and delivery of major power generation projects in the Philippines, including simple cycle and combined cycle plants.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design and delivery of power generation projects.
• Act as technical authority for power systems and electrical equipment.
• Develop and review electrical specifications for switchgear, transformers, gensets, MCCs, drives, and cables.
• Oversee preparation of SLDs, protection philosophies, wiring diagrams, layouts, and design basis reports.
• Lead power system studies including load flow and short circuit analyses.

As the demand for reliable, sustainable, and resilient energy infrastructure continues to grow, we're seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to lead the design and delivery of complex power generation projects, including simple cycle and combined cycle power plants.

This is a senior technical leadership role where you'll provide engineering expertise, mentor multidisciplinary teams, and drive the successful delivery of major Energy & Power projects across our global portfolio. This role shall focus on advanced power system design, equipment specification, and technical governance for large-scale generation facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical design and delivery of power generation projects, including simple cycle and combined cycle power plants.
• Act as the technical authority for power systems, electrical equipment, and substation design.
• Develop and review electrical specifications for switchgear, transformers, generators, motor control centers, drives, motors, substations, and cable systems.
• Oversee the preparation of key engineering deliverables such as SLDs, protection philosophies, wiring diagrams, layouts, and design basis reports.
• Lead power system studies including load flow, short circuit, motor starting, harmonic analysis, transient studies, and BESS sizing assessments. [
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements, including NEC, IEEE, IEC, and other international standards.
• Provide technical oversight, quality assurance, and approval of electrical engineering deliverables.
• Support multidisciplinary coordination, client engagement, proposals, and project execution activities.
• Mentor and develop engineers while driving technical excellence and continuous improvement across the Electrical discipline.

Here’s what you’ll need

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Power Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience leading the design of simple cycle and/or combined cycle power generation projects.
• Extensive experience across concept design, FEED, and detailed engineering phases.
• Strong knowledge of NEC, IEEE, IEC, Philippine Electrical Code, and other relevant international standards. Working knowledge of US electrical codes and standards is an advantage.
• Experience performing and reviewing power system studies using ETAP, SKM, or similar software.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex engineering deliverables.
