Job summary

Ionic Partners is rebuilding operating systems for business functions with agentic systems that run in production, across multiple portfolio companies. You will join a central, flat team focused on shipping, operating, and improving agentic software that touches engineering, support, finance, and marketing functions.

You will inherit an in-house orchestration framework, structured context artifacts, and automated QA agents, and you will extend and harden these systems to scale across companies

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on software engineering building and operating production systems.
• 3+ years building AI-Native or agentic systems in production.

Responsibilities

• Design and build agentic systems that run real business functions in production.
• Ramp into large production codebases and extend them safely.
• Define eval harnesses, baselines, and monitoring for non-deterministic systems.
• Collaborate with domain experts to translate specs into agentic architectures.
• Ensure cost control, security boundaries, and auditability in production.
