Job summary

General Motors Philippines invites students to join a hybrid internship in Finance and Accounting, with a mid-shift from 1pm to 10pm. The role requires reporting to the GM Philippines office three times weekly or as dictated by business needs.

Ideal candidates are graduating or in their 3rd year, pursuing Finance or Accounting, with internship as an official undergraduate requirement. Strong MS Office skills and basic accounting knowledge are expected; KNIME/LEAN Six Sigma training is a plus.

Qualifications

• Internship required as an official undergraduate requirement.
• Willing to extend internship hours and work hybrid.
• Basic accounting knowledge and proficiency with MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Initiate projects to streamline accounting operations via standardization/automation.
• Perform manual journal entries, reconciliations, and budgeting tasks.
• Identify opportunities to simplify processes and contribute to QA standardization.
• Present results to GBS leadership and participate in cross-team initiatives.

Work Arrangement:

This role is categorized as hybrid on mid shift (1pm to 10pm) . This means the successful candidate is expected to report to GM Philippines office three times per week or other frequency dictated by the business.

What You'll Do

• Initiate and complete projects to streamline accounting operations via process simplification, standardization and/or automation.
• Perform (low risk) operational activities like manual journal entries, account reconciliation or budgeting and forecasting
• Participate in meetings to identify opportunities to streamline/simplify work. This may be one of below, but not limited to APM Policy review, MJE automation/reduction focused on high effort entries, and global QA tasks standardization
• Present the results of the project to GBS Leadership Lead/participate in GBS-wide engagement activities

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

• Candidates must be graduating/3rd year college students of Finance and Accounting courses, with internship as official undergraduate requirement
• Must be willing to extend internship hours if needed and work on a hybrid set-up.
• Basic accounting skills
• Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Powerpoint, etc.)
• KNIME or any similar automation tools preferably trained LEAN, Six-sigma trained
• Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills (i.e. with high confidence to present to top management)
