REED ELSEVIER SHARED SERVICES (PHILIPPINES) INC. is seeking a Finance–Deal Desk professional to enhance B2B pricing, support negotiations, and optimize deal review processes.
The role centers on developing analytical tools and AI-driven automation to improve efficiency and decision-making across Sales, Finance and Operations. You will produce data-driven value propositions, manage strategic initiatives, ensure policy compliance, and maintain financial models for consistent approvals across
Enhance B2B bid and pricing strategies by developing advanced pricing capabilities that support proactive deal pricing, improve proposal competitiveness, optimize margins, and streamline supporting systems and back-office operations. In addition, provide negotiation support to Sales as needed.
Adapt and evolve deal review process for evolving go to market strategies (e.g. Elsevier 360, Elsevier Edge, Elsevier Emerge & Elsevier Essentials)
Manage B2B deal review process by acting as the key contact point between Sales, Finance and Operations. Identify and implement opportunities for making the deal review process more impactful.
Develop and implement easy-to-use analytical tools and reporting capabilities, leveraging AI-driven automation to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and enhance decision-making.
Produce clear, data-driven customer value propositions and integrate them into sales support materials by working cross-functionally with product, content, marketing, and sales teams.
Drive the implementation of strategic initiatives and monitor progress of projects and key deliverables, while effectively managing stakeholders across the organization
Provide oversight of the deal review process to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
Review and process Deal Desk requests submitted by the Sales team, ensuring all required information is complete, accurate, and sufficient for informed decision making
Validate business justifications, pricing details, and financial impact for each Deal Desk request prior to routing for approval
Serve as the primary point of contact between the Sales, Finance, and Operations teams throughout the deal review process
Maintain and understand financial models that quantify the financial implications of Deal Desk requests and provide a consistent framework for approver decision making
Ensure all Deal Desk requests are reviewed in accordance with audit compliance requirements
Bachelor's or higher degree in Finance or Accounting or a related field, with an interest in financial analysis and business operations.
Relevant experience in pricing, deal support, or contract review, understanding of profit and loss statements, revenue, and cost drivers, and their impact on margin analysis and profitability.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and support business decisions.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel with the ability to organize, analyze, and present information accurately.
Familiarity with AI-enabled tools or a willingness to learn how they can be used to improve workflows, automate routine tasks, and support decision-making.
Experience creating reports, maintaining data, and working with large datasets; ability to identify and resolve data quality issues.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly to a variety of audiences.
Collaborative team player with the ability to build positive working relationships across cross-functional teams.
