Job summary

Electrical Equipment & System Integration, Inc. (EESI) is seeking a detail-oriented Proofreader/Editor to ensure content accuracy, consistency, and adherence to client style. You will correct spelling, typography, and captions, and implement client updates across documents.

The role requires 2 years of proofreading or editing experience, with strong MS Office and Acrobat skills. Knowledge of XML publishing workflows is an advantage, and MS Word proficiency is beneficial.

Qualifications

• BA degree in English, Journalism, or related field preferred.
• Good working knowledge of MS Office Applications and Acrobat Reader, including file management through Windows Explorer.
• Two years of experience proofreading or editing text; or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
• Working knowledge of XML publishing production workflow/systems an advantage.
• Knowledge of MS Word operation an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Ensures text matches original; spelling and style are correct; headings and captions are accurate.
• Corrects spelling and stylization per client’s typesetting requirements and punctuation conventions.
• Implements client updates and ensures consistency across documents.
• Reports quality findings to appropriate stakeholders.
