Job description

Were partnering with a fast-growing, venture-backed fintech operating across Latin America that is reimagining how small and medium businesses access financial solutions. SMBs represent over 90% of companies in the region, yet they continue to face massive structural gaps in access to capital and financial infrastructure. This company is building the next generation of embedded financial solutions, enabling platforms to seamlessly offer financing and other financial products to their SMB ecosystems.

Backed by top-tier global investors and entering a new phase of regional expansion, the company is scaling its operations, partnerships, and market presence across multiple LatAm countries. To support this growth, they are looking for their first dedicated PR & Communications Lead—a strategic, commercially-minded operator who will architect and own the companys public narrative across the region.

This role sits at the intersection of strategy, storytelling, and go-to-market execution. You will be responsible for building a high-impact communications function from the ground up, shaping how the company is perceived by partners, media, and the broader ecosystem. Youll work closely with Business Development, Strategic Partnerships, Product, Risk, and Data teams, and collaborate directly with executive leadership.

Responsibilities:

Communications Strategy & Narrative Development

Define and own the multi-country PR and communications strategy across Latin America.

Translate business objectives into a clear, compelling public narrative across Mexico, Colombia, Chile, Peru, and Brazil.

Localize messaging per market, adapting tone, timing, and positioning to each countrys media landscape, cultural context, and regulatory environment.

Act as editor-in-chief for all external communications: press releases, executive thought leadership, blog posts, partner case studies, and data-driven content.

Develop a modern, multi-format content strategy including short-form video, social storytelling, infographics, webinars, podcasts, and multimedia assets.

Own and manage the companys owned channels (blog, newsletter, social media), ensuring a consistent and strong brand voice.

Build and scale relationships with top fintech, business, and tech journalists across LatAm.

Secure strategic coverage through proactive pitching, exclusives, and data-led narratives that sustain long-term media momentum.

Executive & Thought Leadership Positioning

Design and execute a thought leadership program to elevate executive visibility through interviews, bylines, events, and speaking opportunities.

Prepare briefing documents, messaging frameworks, and talking points for executive communications.

Partner & GTM Communications

Partner with Business Development to plan joint announcements, launches, and co-marketing campaigns.

Develop co-branded content and case studies that drive partner engagement and reinforce category leadership.

Crisis, Reputation & Issues Management

Build and maintain a crisis communications playbook, ensuring readiness for reputational, regulatory, or operational scenarios.

Act as a trusted advisor to leadership during high-sensitivity moments, ensuring fast, aligned, and accurate communication.

Measurement, Analytics & Reporting

Define and track communications KPIs including share of voice, inbound partner interest, narrative pull-through, engagement, and coverage quality.

Deliver regular insights and recommendations to executive stakeholders.

Requirements

5+ years of experience in communications, PR, or corporate communications, ideally in B2B tech, fintech, or high-growth startups in LatAm.

Established, active media relationships across Latin America (financial, business, and tech press).

Strong execution mindset with the ability to build multi-quarter comms plans and execute hands-on.

Proven ability to translate complex financial and technical concepts into clear, persuasive narratives.

Exceptional writing and editorial skills in Spanish and English.

Experience producing digital and multimedia assets (video, social content, infographics, webinars, podcasts).

Familiarity with AI tools for content creation, publishing, and social workflows.

Fluent in Spanish and English; Portuguese is a strong plus.

Comfortable operating in fast-paced, ambiguous environments and owning projects end-to-end.
