About the role
Most of our clients adopted Power Platform faster than they governed it. Makers are productive and agents are appearing, but nobody is sure what is deployed, who owns it, what it can reach or what it will cost. As a Power Platform Administrator at TQA, you make the platform safe to scale inside our clients' tenants: environments that make sense, data policies that hold, and capacity and licensing that surprise nobody.
This is a client-facing operator role, not a build role. You will run environment governance, data policy and the platform day to day, Copilot Studio agents included, across several client estates, each with its own licensing position and risk appetite. Some will hand you a mature governance model to run. Others will hand you a default environment with four hundred uncontrolled apps and a dozen agents nobody owns, and ask where to start. You diagnose apps, flows and agents. You don't build them.
You execute a governance model independently and contribute to its design, saying clearly when it needs to change. Tenant-wide governance design and the licensing strategy that funds it stay with our Solution Architects. You make that design real, and your evidence shapes its next version.
Key responsibilities
- Contribute to each client's governance model with evidence from the estate: what is deployed, what it consumes, and what breaks if a control is tightened.
- Forecast license, capacity and Copilot Credit needs, and flag platform changes that will cost the client money or break something before they land.
- Implement environment topologies (development, test, production), contain the default environment, and route makers away from it.
- Govern at group scope with environment groups and rules, not one environment at a time.
- Configure Managed Environments, settling the licensing consequence first: every active user needs a premium license, standard apps included.
- Run backup, restore, copy, admin mode, deletion and recovery safely and reversibly.
- Watch Dataverse capacity and act early. An over-capacity tenant loses create, copy and restore.
- Track license and Copilot Credit allocation and consumption, and report where the cost goes.
- Author and maintain one defensible data policy (DLP) baseline: connector classification, action control, custom connectors and precedence.
- Fix DLP-driven failures in live solutions, and explain the fix to the maker whose work stopped.
About you
- Power Platform governance you have built and operated: [4+] years hands-on with Power Apps, Power Automate and Dataverse, including [2+] years where platform administration and governance was your primary responsibility, not an occasional task.
- Independent delivery in front of a client: you have implemented and run a governance model end to end for a client, or an internal customer at equivalent distance, and defended your recommendations to them.
- Admin center fluency, and clarity on what isn't administered there: license assignment, identity and Power BI tenant settings.
- Environment strategy in a real estate: environment types and their consequences, the default environment's problems, routing, and lifecycle operations with their restrictions.
- Managed Environments and environment groups, hands‑on, with the consequence: every active user in a managed environment needs a premium license, standard apps included.
- Data policy design and troubleshooting: you can explain precedence, handle connectors that can't be blocked, predict what a classification change will break, and fix a live solution a policy has just stopped.
- Copilot Studio agent governance through generally available controls: agent data policies and knowledge‑source rules, sharing limits, inventory and ownership, maker credentials, and Copilot Credit allocation with per-agent limits.
- Security and access: Entra security groups, Dataverse security roles, admin role scoping, and least‑privilege application users and service principals.
- Scripted administration with PowerShell, pac CLI or the Power Platform API, using service principal authentication, including an inventory larger than the admin center will export.
- Clear written and spoken English. You are credible with a platform engineer and a finance stakeholder about the same decision, and can say no to a connector request while offering a workable alternative.
