Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.
• At least 2 years of professional experience in a power plant chemistry program or 4 years of experience as an analyst in an industrial setting.
• Registered Chemist or Chemical Engineer license required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct sample testing and analysis of water and water effluent, coal receipts and feed, light fuel oil, and other materials following established procedures.
• Conduct monitoring of the chemical quality of the plant’s operating systems and prepare reports on results and recommendations for appropriate action.
• Perform routine inspection, maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of analytical laboratory equipment to ensure the quality of laboratory work.
• Gather findings from laboratory methods and procedures, and report them to improve operating guidelines relative to production quality and compliance.
