Job summary

Mc MAI (CEBU) TRADING CORPORATION seeks an Environmental & Safety Officer to ensure regulatory compliance and manage pollution-control facilities across the Calaca branch. The role includes coordinating health and safety programs, conducting inspections, and reporting to authorities.

Applicants should hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering, complete BOSH and PCO trainings, and have at least one year in a related field. OSH training beyond basics is preferred.

Qualifications

• 40 hours BOSH Training completed.
• 40 hours Basic PCO Training completed.
• Preferably 48 hours OSH Advance Training.

About the role

This role involves ensuring compliance with environmental and occupational safety and health regulations, managing pollution control facilities, and coordinating health and safety programs across the assigned branch.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with PD 1586, RA 6969, RA 8749, RA 9003, RA 9275, and other pertinent regulations in coordination with the Managing Head

• Attend to requirements of related government agencies prior to construction or installation of pollution control facilities, including application and securing of necessary pollution permits and renewal thereof

• Monitor activities pertaining to installation or construction of pollution source and control facilities to ensure compliance with air, noise, and water quality standards

• Supervise proper operation and maintenance of pollution control facilities of the assigned branch

• Report to the Authority within reasonable time the breakdown of any pollution control facility, including estimated and actual completion/repair dates

• Submit periodic reports validated by the Manager as stipulated or required by the Authority

• Act as liaison officer with the Authority and maintain liaison with city/provincial/municipal or local pollution control officers

• Attend meetings for Pollution Control Officers as called by management and/or Authority

• Recommend to management the installation and operation of additional equipment for pollution abatement facilities as needed

• Implement occupational safety and health programs in accordance with legal standards

• Serve as Secretary to the Health and Safety Committee, including preparing meeting minutes, reporting on recommendations, and notifying members of meetings

• Conduct investigation of accidents as a member of the Health and Safety Committee and submit separate report and analysis to the employer

• Coordinate all health and safety training programs for the company

• Conduct health and safety inspections and monitor Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) compliance and safety of warehouse personnel

• Maintain or assist in maintenance of an efficient accident record system and coordinate actions to eliminate accident causes

• Provide assistance to government agencies in safety and health inspections, accident investigations, or related programs

• Conduct training, forums, and toolbox talks on Environmental, Safety and Health concerns in the assigned branch

About you

• Bachelor's degree in any engineering-related course
