Job summary

VTSA Lifts Philippines is seeking a PMS Technician I to join our maintenance team in Metro Manila. This developmental role focuses on learning standard maintenance procedures, safety practices, and documenting elevator-related activities under supervision.

You will assist in preventive maintenance, support senior technicians during inspections, and help prepare maintenance logs and reports while strictly following safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Basic mechanical components handling and inspection.
• Basic electrical/electronic checks by visual inspection and continuity.
• Familiarity with elevator safety devices and basic safety circuits.

Responsibilities

• Assist in scheduled preventive maintenance activities and inspections.
• Support senior technicians during troubleshooting and repairs.
• Prepare service reports, checklists and maintenance logs.
• Observe abnormal conditions and report them immediately.
• Follow safety procedures, lock-out/tag-out, and housekeeping standards.
• Assist in ensuring regulatory readiness for inspections.

Description

The PMS Technician I supports preventive maintenance and basic service activities under the direct supervision of senior technicians. This role is primarily developmental, focusing on learning standard maintenance procedures, safety practices, basic troubleshooting skills, and proper documentation related to elevator systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in scheduled preventive maintenance (PMS) activities and basic equipment inspections.
• Perform routine cleaning, lubrication, tightening, and minor adjustments as instructed.
• Support skilled or senior technicians during troubleshooting, repair works, and inspections.
• Observe and immediately report abnormal conditions such as unusual noises, vibrations, odor, error codes, or irregular operation.
• Assist in the preparation and completion of service reports, checklists, and maintenance logs.
• Strictly comply with company safety procedures, lock-out/tag-out practices, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Technical Knowledge/Scope

• Basic mechanical components such as door operators, rollers, guide shoes, and simple linkages.
• Basic electrical and electronic checks limited to visual inspection, continuity checks, and loose connections.
• Basic understanding of elevator safety devices and functions, including limit switches, buffers, inspection mode, emergency stop, and basic safety circuits.

Permit & Compliance Responsibilities

• Assist in monitoring the validity of permits and certificates such as PTI (Permit to Install) and PTO (Permit to Operate) issued by LGU / DOLE.
• Support preparation of elevator units for regulatory and third-party inspections by ensuring cleanliness, accessibility, and basic operational readiness.
