Job summary

Archipelago Philippine Ferries Corp is seeking a PMS Superintendent to join the engineering team in Alabang, Muntinlupa City, Metro Manila. The role focuses on overseeing planned maintenance systems, ensuring safety, and maintaining operational efficiency for maritime assets.

You will develop maintenance programs, coordinate with shipboard staff, and lead continuous improvement while complying with IMO regulations and class society rules.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • 5-7 years in maritime maintenance, PMS management or vessel operations.
  • Thorough knowledge of PMS and maritime maintenance best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and oversee PMS for vessels and assets.
  • Create and maintain maintenance schedules per statutory and class rules.
  • Monitor maintenance performance and drive improvements.
  • Conduct audits and inspections for compliance.

About the role

Archipelago Philippine Ferries Corp is seeking a PMS Superintendent to join our engineering team in a full-time capacity based in Alabang, Muntinlupa City, Metro Manila. This is a strategic position within our civil and structural engineering division, responsible for overseeing planned maintenance systems and ensuring the integrity, safety and operational efficiency of our maritime infrastructure and vessels. As PMS Superintendent, you will play a crucial role in developing, implementing and managing comprehensive maintenance programmes that safeguard our assets and maintain compliance with international maritime standards.

Key responsibilities
  • Develop, implement and oversee planned maintenance systems (PMS) for all vessels and maritime infrastructure assets
  • Create and maintain comprehensive maintenance schedules, ensuring adherence to statutory requirements and classification society rules
  • Monitor and track maintenance performance metrics, identifying trends and implementing corrective actions to improve efficiency
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections of vessels and equipment to verify compliance with maintenance standards
  • Coordinate with shipboard personnel, contractors and internal teams to execute maintenance activities on schedule
  • Manage maintenance documentation, spare parts inventory and ensure accurate record-keeping for all maintenance operations
  • Identify opportunities for cost optimisation whilst maintaining the highest safety and quality standards
  • Provide technical guidance and support to maintenance teams and operational staff
  • Ensure compliance with International Maritime Organisation (IMO) regulations, flag state requirements and company policies
  • Report on PMS performance to senior management and recommend improvements to maintenance strategies
What we're looking for
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in maritime maintenance, PMS management or vessel operations within the shipping industry
  • Thorough knowledge of planned maintenance systems and best practices in maritime maintenance
  • Strong understanding of International Maritime Organisation (IMO) regulations and classification society requirements (DNV, ABS, BV, etc.)
  • Proficiency in PMS software platforms and maritime management systems
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Demonstrated leadership experience and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Preferably certified through marine certifications or training programmes (e.g., ISM Code, STCW)
