Job summary

Private Advertiser is seeking a seasoned Plant Manager to lead and optimize operations in a heavy industry setting in the Philippines. The role requires extensive leadership, strategic planning, and the ability to drive efficiency while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

You will oversee production planning, maintenance programs, and organizational structure to sustain high productivity, quality, and cost control. A hands-on leader capable of guiding cross-functional teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of twenty (20) years of relevant work experience in plant management.
• Ten (10) years of which should be in a managerial position.

Responsibilities

• Attain budgeted production volume and yield targets.
• Plan and implement monthly production scheduling.
• Ensure adherence to approved parameters by production lines.
• Analyze production problems and implement long-term solutions.
• Control operating expenses to reduce production costs.
• Maintain machines and equipment to minimize downtime.
• Develop and implement preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance programs.
• Analyze process defects and drive process improvements.
• Supervise Plant Logistics Manager and PAD Supervisor.
• Ensure proper storage and accounting of materials, scraps and wastes.
• Optimize warehouse space usage and material segregation.
• Coordinate truckers and shippers for plant deliveries.
• Conduct organizational reviews to maintain efficiency and productivity.
• Ensure plant employees have necessary competencies and conduct trainings.
• Establish KRAs and KPIs for plant managers and supervisors and perform evaluations.
• Plan succession and identify high potentials for higher positions.
• Ensure compliance with Safety, Security & Environmental regulations.
• Develop and implement Safety & Security Programs with the Committee.
• Systematize and prioritize varied activities and provide direction to subordinates.

Job description

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Ensures attainment of budgeted production volume and yield targets.
• Ensures that monthly production planning is done and implemented.
• Ensures that all approved parameters are strictly complied with by the production lines.
• Analyzes production problems that arise and looks for long term solutions to address them.
• Manages operating expenses to bring down budgeted production cost.
• Ensures that all machines and equipment are in good running condition all times in order to reduce at all times in order to reduce downtime.
• Ensures that preventive, predictive and corrective Maintenance Programs are developed and implemented as scheduled.
• Analyzes process defects and looks for ways to improve the process.
• Administratively supervises the Plant Logistics Manager
• Ensures that all raw materials; finished products, scraps and wastes are properly stored and accounted for.
• Looks after the optimization of warehouse space usage and proper segregation of stored materials
• Ensures that truckers and shippers are readily available for the delivery needs of the plant
• Administratively supervises the PAD Supervisor
• Conducts organizational review and ensures that the plant is structured in such a way that efficiency and productivity is maintained.
• Ensures that plant employees have the needed competencies and ensures that trainings are conducted to address gaps.
• Ensures that KRAs and KPIs are in place for all plant-based managers and supervisors and that performance evaluation is conducted periodically.
• Ensures that Succession Planning is done and that high potentials are well identified and developed for higher positions.
• Ensures that plant abides by government regulations regarding Safety, Security & Environmental Protection.
• Develops and implements appropriate Safety & Security Programs through the Safety & Security Committee with the Organizing.
• Ability to systematize and prioritize varied activities.
• Ability to provide direction to his subordinates in the performance of their duties and responsibilities.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of twenty (20) years of relevant work experience in plant Management gained from heavy industries, ten (10) years of which should be in a managerial position.
• Graduate of Mechanical and /or Electrical Engineering or related courses from reputable universities Post Graduate studies in Business Administration is preferred
• Strong leader has strong work ethics, firm and has the ability to make balanced decisions passion for work excellence, mature and professional even under stressful work conditions, resourceful and creative, output-oriented, team player, self-starter with an entrepreneurial approach on work, open-minded and flexible in dealing with all levels of management.
• He must possess well-routed managerial expertise, people skills and excellent communication skills. He must be hands-on in managing the plant. He must confidently lead and take responsibility in all initiatives. Excellent coordination and negotiation skills is a must.
