About the Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Physical Security Systems Engineer to own and evolve its worldwide physical security technology environment. You will act as the senior technical expert for the current access control platform (Lenel OnGuard) while driving a multi-year migration to Genetec Security Center. The role covers access control, video monitoring, visitor management, incident response, and badging, with a focus on reliability, cybersecurity compliance, and sound architecture across global facilities.

What You’ll Do

• Own the platform lifecycle: Lead global deployments, patching, upgrades, and ongoing maintenance of the Lenel OnGuard environment, and carry out a phased migration to Genetec Security Center.

• Run a hybrid environment: Design, configure, and maintain security systems that span servers, relational databases, client installations, application services, and third‑party integrations.

• Provide advanced support: Act as the tier-3 escalation point for access control, alarm routing, video streaming, identity management workflows, and hardware controller communication issues.

• Document thoroughly: Create and maintain architecture diagrams, database migration mappings, runbooks, fallback plans, and standard operating procedures.

• Collaborate across teams: Work with global IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, network engineering, database administration, physical security operations, and external vendors.

• Keep systems stable: Run regular health checks, monitor logs, tune performance, and perform structured root-cause analysis to maintain availability.

• Rationalize applications: Review existing physical security tools and identify legacy functions that can be consolidated into the Genetec suite (Synergis, Omnicast, Mission Control, ClearID).

What You Bring

Lenel OnGuard

• Solid knowledge of OnGuard architecture, including Application and Communication Servers, SQL back end, OpenAccess RESTful API, DataConduit, and distributed regional/enterprise multi-tier deployments.

• Hands-on experience administering OnGuard v8.2 or higher, including web-based admin modules, automated client packaging, and dependency planning.

• Expertise in configuring alarm priority rules, event-to-action triggers, visual maps, card formats, access levels, badge layouts, reader groups, and panel definitions.

• Proven ability to troubleshoot faults across field panels, communication bridges, database tables, network paths, and client workstations.

Genetec Security Center

• Working knowledge of the Security Center platform architecture and how its modules integrate.

• Hands-on experience with, or the ability to quickly learn, the following modules:

  • Synergis: access control and controller administration

  • Omnicast: video management and analytics integration

  • Mission Control: incident management and decision support

  • ClearID: physical identity and visitor access workflows

  • Data Exporter and Operations Center: reporting, analytics, and task tracking

  • AutoVu and Sipelia: license plate recognition and SIP intercom/audio

• Familiarity with deploying client software across Security Desk, web portals, and mobile devices.

Database, OS & Network Infrastructure

• Database: Proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server, including backup/restore validation, query troubleshooting, indexing, disaster recovery, and high availability (e.g., AlwaysOn Availability Groups, mirroring).

• Operating systems: Strong Windows Server administration, including IIS, service accounts, Active Directory integration, and PKI/certificate management.

• Networking & security: Practical knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, firewall rules, and network segmentation for secure device connectivity, plus experience implementing TLS 1.2 or higher.

Integration & Reporting

• Experience integrating security platforms with HR data sources, IAM tools, biometrics, TWIC readers, and card printing software through OpenAccess API or DataConduit.

• Ability to structure data models that run across two systems and to normalize data feeds for BI tools such as Power BI during a long migration.

Leadership & Professional Skills

• A track record of leading complex, multi-site rollouts, upgrades, and platform migrations.

• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical topics to non-technical and executive audiences.

• An analytical, methodical approach to troubleshooting critical incidents under pressure.

• Comfort working with distributed global teams across time zones and with multiple vendors.

• The ability to balance hands-on execution with long-term architecture and roadmap thinking.

Preferred Qualifications

• Lenel Certified Professional (LCP) or Lenel Certified Expert (LCE) (highly preferred)

• Genetec Security Center certification in Synergis, Omnicast, or Mission Control (highly preferred)

• Exposure to running physical security software in cloud or hybrid environments (e.g., Microsoft Azure) under strict latency and availability requirements

• Experience supporting enterprise-grade, high-availability physical security infrastructure across multiple regions

• Practical experience supporting hybrid operations through documentation, knowledge transfer, and operational readiness activities.
