Role
This role is for you if you are detail-oriented, compassionate, and interested in patient care and the medical or healthcare field. As a Pharmacy Store Assistant, you will support daily pharmacy operations by assisting patients and customers, handling medicines with accuracy, and maintaining a safe, organized, and compliant environment. This is a full-time position for someone who values precision, professionalism, and respectful patient interaction.
Core Roles & Responsibilities
Customer Service & Assistance
- Assist customers professionally with over-the-counter products and basic inquiries.
- Direct prescription-related concerns to the licensed pharmacist as required.
- Ensure customers receive correct items and clear instructions based on store protocols.
Sales & Transaction Handling
- Accurately process sales transactions using the POS system.
- Issue official receipts and ensure all sales are properly recorded.
- Handle cash responsibly and follow cash-handling and documentation procedures.
Inventory & Stock Management
- Receive, check, and arrange stocks according to proper storage guidelines.
- Monitor expiry dates, stock levels, and product conditions.
- Assist in inventory counts and report low stocks, damages, or discrepancies promptly.
Store Organization & Cleanliness
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of shelves, counters, and storage areas.
- Ensure products are properly displayed, labeled, and organized.
- Follow hygiene and sanitation standards inside the pharmacy.
Compliance & Accuracy
- Follow pharmacy rules, SOPs, and regulatory requirements at all times.
- Ensure accuracy in product handling to avoid errors, especially with medicines.
- Report any irregularities, customer issues, or operational concerns immediately.
Teamwork & Operations Support
- Work closely with the pharmacist and other staff to ensure smooth operations.
- Assist with administrative or operational tasks as assigned.
- Be open to schedule changes, shift adjustments, and branch rotation if needed.
Patient Care & Healthcare Support
- Assist patients and customers with over-the-counter medicines and basic health products in a patient, respectful, and compassionate manner.
- Demonstrate sensitivity when assisting elderly, sick, or vulnerable customers.
- Understand the importance of patient safety, accuracy, and confidentiality in a medical environment.
- Refer prescription-related questions or medical concerns to the licensed pharmacist immediately.

Qualifications
Education & Experience
- At least a high school graduate; vocational, college-level, or pharmacy-related education is an advantage.
- Experience in pharmacy, retail, cashiering, or customer service is preferred, but trainable applicants may be considered.
Core Skills & Competencies
- High attention to detail and accuracy, especially when handling medicines and transactions.
- Basic computer and POS system knowledge.
- Good communication skills in Bisaya and English.
- Ability to follow instructions and standard procedures strictly.
Healthcare & Patient-Care Orientation
- Interest in the medical, healthcare, or patient-care field is highly preferred.
- Background or exposure to pharmacy, clinic, hospital, nursing aide, medical assistant, or healthcare retail is an advantage.
- Able to interact with patients calmly, empathetically, and professionally, especially those seeking medical assistance.
- Willingness to learn and retain pharmaceutical knowledge, basic health information, and patient-care best practices.

- Honesty and integrity are non-negotiable, with no history of theft, fraud, or dishonest conduct.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Responsible, neat, organized, and able to work consistently without shortcuts.
- Patient, respectful, and professional when dealing with customers.
Physical & Schedule Requirements
- Physically fit to stand for long hours and perform store duties.
- Willing to work shifting schedules, weekends, holidays, and peak days
- Flexible to rotate schedules (day-shift & night-shift) based on operational needs.

- Galam Pharmacy, Corner Serina Villarin Street, Barangay Carmen, Cagayan de Oro (beside DOH Region 10, JR Borja City Hospital and fronting Mt. Carmel Church, near Country Village Hotel)
- Open 24 hours, Mondays to Sundays
- Work Shifting
- 5AM to 2PM - Opener Shift
- 1PM to 10PM - Mid Shift
- 9PM to 6AM - Night Shift
Employment will then be subject to complete submission of pre-employment requirements such the following:
