Job Description
- Supervises daily the Pharmacy Assistant when filling up prescriptions and dispensing medicines to customers to ensure it is properly done and is error-free;
- Educates Pharmacy Assistant on basic pharmaceutical matters like uses, contraindications, side-effects, dosages, storage of medicines and medical supplies;
- Provides counseling to customers and patients whenever necessary;
- Makes periodic evaluation of employees in the branch to assess strict adherence to Pharmacy laws and practice;
- Checks dosage and ensures that medicines are correctly and safely supplied and labeled;
- Reviews prescriptions from doctors to ensure accuracy, ascertain the needed ingredients, and evaluates their suitability for the patient;
- Checks, reviews, and files prescriptions properly and updates Prescription Book and records all prescriptions received;
- Ensures all documentary requirements of the Food & Drug Administration have fully complied like Risk Management Plan and etc., and constantly updated, including renewed License to Operate and personal PRC license;
- Plans, implements, or maintains procedures for mixing, packaging and labeling pharmaceuticals according to policy and legal requirements to ensure quality, security, and proper disposal;
- Attends seminars and meetings called by the FDA and the local chapter of the Philippine Pharmacists Association to update knowledge and keep abreast of new practices and regulations in the industry;
- Monitors regularly the inventory level of stocks to ensure adequate supply at all times; recommends items to be ordered from suppliers;
- Monitors expiration dates of all items and recommends means of disposing of the near-expiring medicines; ensures that medicines and food items sold are not expired or damaged;
- Takes charge of initial stocking, monitors movement of stocks, and prepares stocks for return if not moving;
- Makes a list of sought‑after medicines and items that are not yet in stock, for a future purchase;
- Takes charge of computing and recording Senior citizen’s discounts and those of persons with disabilities;
- Participates in the Coop’s social accountability activities such as tree‑planting and medical missions; assists superiors during events and other special assignments;
- Performs other tasks assigned.
Peripheral Functions
- In the absence of bookkeepers & other bonded staff in the unit, Pharmacist will be the one to transact in the bank;
- Acts as petty cash custodian of the branch;
- Acts as a cashier in the absence of the regular or assigned cashier.

Internal Relationships: HR Manager, Chief Finance Officer, Marketing Officer, Area Managers, Branch Heads, Warehouse Supervisor, IT Supervisor, Supply Chain Manager, Internal Auditor, Legal Counsel, and other officers of the management.
External Relationships: Internal Auditor, HR, Admin, Finance, and Bookkeeper.
Working Condition
Tools and Equipment used: Computer, cellphone, and calculator
Physical Demands and Work Environment: Frequent sitting, walking, talking, observing, and use of computers. Work performed in a climate‑controlled office with long hours at the computer. May have exposure to road and safety hazards due to visits to branches and government offices.
Job Specifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy with PRC License
Experience: Must have at least 3 to 4 months of experience in pharmaceutical operations.
Skills: Broad knowledge of pharmaceuticals and health, good communication skills, patience in handling customers, accuracy, and keen attention to detail.
