Twoconnect Philippines, Inc. is seeking a Claims Assessor to review post-treatment pet insurance claims using veterinary knowledge and clinical judgement.

You will assess medical notes, treatment history, and supporting documents to ensure accuracy, fairness, and timely outcomes in line with company policies and regulatory requirements. This remote role focuses on thorough data validation and decision support within the claims portal.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Medicine or equivalent is required.
• Veterinary Doctor qualification is highly preferred.
• 3–5 years’ experience in veterinary medicine or pet claims/insurance.
• Strong analytical and communication skills with attention to detail.

Job description

The Claims Assessor will review and assess post-treatment pet insurance claims, using veterinary knowledge and clinical judgement to ensure claims are accurate, complete, and assessed fairly in line with company policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and delegated authority. This role will focus on reviewing medical notes, treatment history, supporting documentation, claim details, and final checks through the internal claims portal to determine whether treatment aligns with the pet’s diagnosis or condition and to support fair, accurate, and timely claim outcomes.

• Process and assess new post-treatment pet insurance claims through the internal claims portal, including completing final checks before approval.
• Review claim information, medical notes, medical history, treatment notes, treatment plans, invoices, and supporting documentation to ensure details are accurate, complete, and consistent.
• Apply veterinary knowledge and clinical judgement to assess whether the treatment provided is appropriate for the pet’s diagnosis, condition, and claim circumstances.
• Collect accurate information and documentation required to proceed with pet claims.
• Identify inaccurate, incomplete, missing, or inconsistent information when reviewing claims and follow up where required.
• Identify any reasons why a claim may not be payable under policy terms, procedures, or relevant exclusions.
• Identify any reasons why full payment cannot be made and ensure partial payment decisions are assessed fairly and accurately.
• Recommend claims for payment in line with claim policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, delegated authority, and company standards.
• Support fair settlement of claims by applying veterinary knowledge, policy requirements, sound judgement, and strong attention to detail.
• Provide veterinary and technical advice where required and work closely with the claims team to support accurate assessment and payment decisions.
• Assist with existing manual claims where required while the new claims system is being implemented, with the claims portal being the primary focus as the system is rolled out.
• Ensure customers are treated fairly and receive prompt, accurate, and professional claims assessment processing.
• Maintain accurate claim records, assessment notes, documentation, and internal communication in the relevant systems.
• Maintain a high level of accuracy, efficiency, and attention to detail while ensuring customer quality standards are consistently met.
• Attend remote meetings, training sessions, and team discussions as required.
• Other position-level duties as they arise.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Medicine is essential.
• Veterinary Doctor qualification is highly preferred.
• 3–5 years’ experience in veterinary medicine, small animal veterinary practice, pet claims assessment, insurance claims, veterinary administration, animal health, or a similar role.
• Strong veterinary knowledge and experience treating animals is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of animal conditions, with the ability to quickly recognise conditions and assess whether treatment aligns with the diagnosis.
• Experience reading and interpreting medical notes, medical history, treatment notes, treatment plans, invoices, and veterinary documentation.
• Previous pet insurance claims experience is highly desirable.
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify inaccurate, incomplete, inconsistent, or missing information when reviewing claims.
• Ability to assess claim information carefully and identify policy concerns, exclusions, or reasons why full payment may not be made.
• Strong judgement and attention to detail when reviewing claims, claim evidence, and payment recommendations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to provide clear veterinary and technical advice to the claims team and communicate professionally with internal stakeholders.
• Experience using CRM systems, claims systems, or the ability to learn new technology quickly.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Strong time management skills, with the ability to manage claim volumes, deadlines, and assessment priorities.
• Ability to engage with multiple stakeholders and work collaboratively with the claims team and internal stakeholders.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to accurate, fair, and efficient claim assessment.
• Ability to work remotely and attend weekly meetings as required.
