Job summary

Madison Energy Infrastructure is seeking a Performance Engineer to manage the performance of a growing solar and BESS portfolio. You will work with DAS/SCADA platforms, surface insights in Power BI, and drive revenue protection across 600+ sites in the US.

The role emphasizes root-cause analysis, data validation, and close collaboration with RAMs. Candidates should be data-driven, detail-oriented, and able to operate on US Eastern hours.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of expert-level experience in commercial and utility solar monitoring.
• Deep understanding of solar performance metrics: PR, availability, capacity factor, insolation, degradation.
• Ability to interpret production and weather data to identify underperformance.
• Experience reading PVSyst models and pro-forma energy projections.
• 1+ year of experience using Power BI.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent written English; capable of clear issue summaries.
• Demonstrated critical thinking and pattern recognition.
• Comfortable with independent, daily routines and occasional weekends.

Responsibilities

• Analyze weekly and monthly production data across 600+ sites using Power BI dashboards.
• Evaluate performance metrics and assess site health for underperformance.
• Investigate root causes and quantify energy losses.
• Flag issues with concise summaries and next steps to RAMs.
• Monitor sub-inverter performance and flag trends obscured at site level.
• Contribute to monthly production reporting and data validation.
• Digitally onboard new sites into the analytics ecosystem.
• Ingest and validate PVSyst models and design parameters.
