Terra Solar Philippines, Inc. seeks a Senior Operations Research/Optimization Scientist to manage the Dispatch Optimization Model for solar and BESS assets, driving revenue through forecast-based dispatch and plant constraints.
You will lead optimization work, align outputs with commercial strategies, and collaborate with IT and trading teams to integrate data pipelines and external inputs.
The Dispatch Optimization Model (IRESS) Engineer will manage our integrated solar and BESS optimization model. This role is critical in maximizing asset revenue by generating accurate, market-aligned dispatch strategies based on price forecasts, irradiance forecasts, contractual obligations, and plant constraints. The role sits at the intersection of commercial, technical, and digital systems and will report to the Head of Commercial and Revenue.
Senior Operations Research/Optimization scientist with experience in LP/MILP, mathematical modelling and Python-based optimization (preferably with energy/power systems, power markets, or BESS experience)
Candidates with strong quantitative background; Completed (preferred) or currently pursuing a master's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Data Analytics, Electrical or Energy Engineering, or a related field.
Advanced knowledge of mathematical optimization, statistics, and quantitative modeling techniques.
An advantage (but not required) if they can present previous projects or research demonstrating the application of optimization techniques to real-world problems.
Strong understanding of electricity market dynamics and revenue drivers (e.g., arbitrage, ancillary services, contract structures)
Strong knowledge or experience in BESS and integrated solar/BESS power plants is an advantage
Proficiency in analytical tools and scripting languages; advanced proficiency in MS Excel3–5+ years experience in power systems, energy markets, or optimization/analytics
