Job summary

Fusion Markets in Manila is seeking a talented People & Culture Lead to manage the day-to-day HR function, recruitment, payroll support, and employment compliance as we scale in the Philippines.

Reporting to the Manila Director, you will develop policies, support salary benchmarking, and drive employee engagement and performance processes in a hybrid office.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on HR experience in a fast-moving business.
• Strong knowledge of Philippine labour laws and HR operations.
• Exposure to payroll, statutory contributions and HR systems.
• Organised, commercially minded with problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day HR function for Manila team and partner with senior leaders.
• Manage end-to-end HR operations: recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, offboarding.
• Develop and maintain HR policies in line with local laws.
• Collaborate with payroll to ensure accurate payroll and statutory contributions.
• Oversee compensation, benefits administration including HMO and salary benchmarking.
• Prepare employment documentation: regularisation, promotions, letters.
• Support employee relations, grievances and performance management.
• Partner with managers on probation reviews and workforce planning.
• Drive employee engagement, learning and development initiatives.
• Track HR metrics and analyze people data for improvements.

What you will own

We’re growing quickly, and we’re looking for a talented People & Culture Lead to help us keep building a great place to work as we scale! In this newly created role you’ll be working closely with the People & Culture team in Australia to manage the day-to-day HR function in Manila, including recruitment, people initiatives, local employment compliance and payroll support, while helping us build better processes and foundations for the team as we grow. Reporting to our Manila Director, you will be responsible for:

• Leading the day-to-day HR function for our Manila team and partnering closely with the Head of People and Culture, Manila Director and local leadership.
• Managing end-to-end HR operations, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations and offboarding.
• Developing and maintaining HR policies, procedures and employment practices in line with Philippine labour laws.
• Partnering with our payroll provider to ensure accurate payroll, leave administration and statutory contributions.
• Managing compensation and benefits administration, including HMO coordination and support with salary benchmarking and reviews.
• Preparing employment documentation, including regularisation, promotion and salary adjustment letters.
• Supporting employee relations matters, including grievances, disciplinary processes and performance management.
• Partnering with managers on probation reviews, performance improvement, people decisions and workforce planning.
• Driving employee engagement, learning and development initiatives that strengthen capability and culture.
• Tracking key HR metrics and using people‑data to identify trends and recommend improvements.

What makes you great in this role

• You bring 5+ years of hands‑on HR experience, along with a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology or a related field, or a recognised HR certification.
• You have a strong working knowledge of Philippine labour laws and HR operations, and know how to apply that knowledge practically in a fast‑moving business.
• You’ve had exposure to payroll, statutory contributions and HR systems, and you’re comfortable getting into the detail when needed.
• You’re organised, commercially minded and a strong problem solver who can balance a great employee experience with what the business needs.
• You build trust quickly, work well with leaders and are comfortable taking ownership of a broad HR remit. Experience in a multinational or mid‑sized business would be a bonus.
