Job summary

P&A Grant Thornton Philippines is seeking a Payroll Specialist to perform procedures under the supervision of the Senior Payroll Specialist and Payroll Manager. The role requires understanding payroll principles, taxation, and relevant laws, with a strong focus on accuracy and confidentiality.

You will work with Dorado Payroll System, Nexus, Office 365, and government portals to produce complete deliverables, adhere to deadlines, and maintain high client service standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance/Banking, Business Studies/Administration/ Management or equivalent.
• New graduates are welcome to apply.
• Well-developed communication (oral and written) skills.
• Interpersonal skills and positive work attitude.
• Knowledge in Microsoft Excel is needed.
• Ability to adjust to multiple engagement managers.

Responsibilities

• Understand payroll principles, taxation, and relevant laws sufficiently to perform the job.
• Review, update and understand fully the client's standard payroll process or engagement manual.
• Execute the procedures in the work program assigned to him/her by the engagement Senior Payroll Specialist and/or Payroll Manager.
• Update superiors of work progress; give feedback on work performed, difficulties encountered, and issues identified.
• Upon instruction/approval by the Payroll Manager, communicate with the client any payroll instructions clarifications, issues, etc.
• Make effective use of job-related tools like Dorado Payroll System, Nexus, Office 365, other payroll related systems, and Government agency portals.
• Produce deliverables that are always accurate and complete.
• Submit deliverables within set deadlines and ensure that the deliverables are sent to the authorized recipients and right addresses and appropriately marked for confidentiality where necessary.
• Assume new or different work assignments and schedules willingly. Modify work methods to meet changing needs of the team or client, without compromising ethical standards.
• Seek and recommend efficient and effective ways to accomplish objectives better.
• Show receptiveness to new ideas. Perform new and different approaches with a positive attitude and commitment to success.
• Perform any task or assignment that may be delegated by a superior, such as administrative work, monitoring, etc.
