Job summary

Aggreko plc is seeking a Payroll Specialist – Asia to manage payroll operations across multiple Asian countries from the Manila office. You will ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely payroll execution while coordinating with external vendors and internal stakeholders.

The role requires hands-on, end-to-end payroll experience across at least three Asian markets, strong analytical skills, and fluency in English. Hybrid support and industry-leading benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 5 years of hands-on, end-to-end payroll experience.
• Payroll across at least 3 Asian countries: Philippines, Singapore and another.
• Experience working with external payroll vendors in Asian territories.
• End-to-end payroll for a medium sized company (roughly 150-400 employees).
• Knowledge of payroll processes, local labor laws, and payroll bookings/reconciliations.

Responsibilities

• Accurately process and consolidate multi-country payroll inputs and ensure timely employee compensation.
• Manage and process all payroll changes, meeting strict deadlines.
• Perform payroll calculations, checks and analysis.
• Oversee shadow payroll management.
• Maintain relationships with payroll vendors and data security.
• Establish internal controls for payroll accuracy and compliance.
• Generate payroll reports and analyses for hires, transfers, and exits.
• Create on-demand reports and support audits.
• Serve as primary payroll contact for stakeholders.
• Manage payslip generation and data reconciliation in Workday.
• Document and maintain payroll processes with audit trails.

What you’ll do as Payroll Specialist - Asia

• Accurately process and consolidate multi-country payroll inputs, ensuring timely and correct employee compensation.
• Manage and process all payroll changes efficiently, meeting strict deadlines.
• Perform detailed payroll calculations, checks, and analysis.
• Oversee shadow payroll management.
• Manage relationships with payroll vendors, ensuring accountability and secure data exchange.
• Establish and enforce robust internal controls for payroll accuracy and compliance with legal requirements.
• Track and manage internal company loans.
• Contribute to and support payroll projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Generate comprehensive payroll reports and analysis, including calculations for new hires, international transfers, and exiting employees.
• Leverage payroll databases to create on-demand reports and support internal/external statutory audits.
• Serve as a primary contact for payroll queries, providing prompt and professional support to internal and external stakeholders.
• Manage payslip generation and distribution via Workday, including simulations and data reconciliation.
• Document and maintain up-to-date payroll processes and procedures.
• Adhere to internal validation and approval processes, maintaining thorough audit trails for all payroll inputs.
• Maintain the strictest confidentiality and data integrity for all payroll information.

You are / have:

• Aminimum 5 years of hands-on, end to end payroll experience
• Payroll experience across a minimum of 3 Asian countries, specifically Philippines, Singapore and a minimum one other (size of each payroll is not important, the regional experience is what we are seeking)
• Experience working with external payroll vendors within those Asian territories
• Experience in all aspects of end to end payroll for a medium sized company (e.g running a payroll for overall approx 150-400 people)
• Knowledge of payroll processes, local labor laws, and accounting principles related to payroll bookings and reconciliations.
• Proven resilience and strong analytical skills to navigate and resolve complex payroll scenarios.
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, with a track record of effective stakeholder management across remote teams.
• Fluent in English.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
• Exceptional accuracy, attention to detail, discretion, and a flexible, adaptable approach.
• Able to work 3 days per week in our Manila office
