Job summary

International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) in Los Baños, Philippines, is seeking an Officer to manage payroll-related accounts for Nationally Recruited Staff and Scholars, ensuring timely and accurate payroll services and budget clearances according to Institute policies.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in accounting with at least 2 years of experience, strong MS Office skills, and the ability to work under limited supervision.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting with at least 2 years of relevant work experience.
• Proficient in MS Office and computerized financial systems; able to adapt to new software.
• Strong analytical and communication skills; able to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Manage employee and Scholar receivable transactions and ensure proper documentation.
• Monitor receivables, timely recording, and settlement of outstanding items.
• Validate Scholar stipends against approved letters and budgets.
• Analyze payroll-related transactions to identify journal entries and adjustments.
• Verify clearances and settlement of outstanding accountabilities for NRS and Scholars.
• Coordinate with NRS, Scholars, IRRI Education, Accounts Payable, and Cashier’s Office to resolve issues.
• Notify employees and scholars about balances, payments, and settlement requirements.
• Process cash advances, reimbursements, and travel liquidations with proper supporting documents.
• End-to-end processing of Scholar stipends, validating against awards and budgets.
