DOXA Talent, Inc. is seeking a Payroll Accountant & Compliance Specialist in the Philippines (Remote). This role focuses on payroll tax administration, state registrations, SUTA maintenance, and W-2 processing across multiple states.

The position supports regulatory compliance, year-end reporting, and serves as the primary backup to the Senior Payroll Tax Accountant. Strong English (B2+ / C1) and multi-state knowledge are required.

The Role

We're seeking a Payroll Accountant & Compliance Specialist. This role is designed for someone with payroll tax administration experience who is comfortable with state registrations, SUTA accounts, W-2 processing, and agency correspondence in a multi-state payroll environment.

You’ll play a key role in ensuring accurate payroll tax setup, account maintenance, regulatory compliance, and year-end reporting, serving as the primary backup to the Senior Payroll Tax Accountant.

Location: Must be in The Philippines – Remote.

Environment: Philippines and International Teams.

Language: Advanced English (B2+ - C1).

Timezone: Monday to Friday – Monday to Friday – 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Mountain Time.

Contract: Full Time

Requirements

• Education: Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, Business, or any related field.
• Experience: 2+ years of payroll tax, payroll compliance, payroll accounting, or related experience; experience with SUTA account setup and maintenance and state payroll tax registrations; experience handling tax notices and agency correspondence; experience with W-2 and year-end payroll processing; PEO or multi-client experience highly preferred.
• Skills: Knowledge of multi-state payroll tax requirements; strong organizational and documentation skills; advanced Excel skills preferred.
• Characteristics: Organized and detail-oriented with strong documentation habits; able to research payroll tax requirements across multiple jurisdictions and follow up with agencies until items are resolved; dependable backup who provides continuity for payroll tax operations.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain SUTA accounts, complete state withholding and unemployment tax registrations, and process tax account updates, changes, and closures.
• Support tax account setup for new clients and new state expansions, monitor tax rates, and track registration status with agencies.
• Monitor and respond to routine tax notices, manage agency correspondence, and research payroll tax requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
• Coordinate annual W-2 processing, review and validate employee wage and tax information, process W-2 corrections and W-2C requests, and support year-end balancing and reporting.
• Serve as the designated backup to the Senior Payroll Tax Accountant, supporting quarter-end and year-end tax processes, payroll tax audits, and compliance documentation.
