Job Overview
Payments Operations Head is a senior management level position responsible for managing multiple teams through other managers in coordination with the Transaction Capture team. The overall objective of the role is to oversee the end results, budgeting, planning and implementation of the functional strategy. The role is Hybrid based in Manila, Philippines.
Job Responsibilities
- Be accountable for management of a complex, critical and large professional disciplinary area and operational function.
- Contribute to short‑to‑medium‑term planning of actions and resources, oversee the budget, and policy formation.
- Lead change‑the‑bank projects, resolve escalated complex issues and balance potentially conflicting needs.
- Present and analyze/validate data to develop solutions that increase productivity, eliminate inefficiencies and save costs.
- Implement and manage a successful risk/control environment, ensuring integrity of process, operations and end results.
- Act as an advisor and coach to new or junior level staff on procedures and work processes across multiple departments.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm’s reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
- Build the team for the future by developing AI skill sets across teams, bringing an AI‑first mindset to all ideations and process improvements.
- Responsible for regulatory engagements and implementation to ensure compliance to local regulations, leading key discussions on new regulation and reviewing impact to Operations.
- Represent Citi PH in industry forums covering Operations across Banking Forums, including Domestic Dollar Settlement Clearing.
- Responsible as Business Activity Owner for operational matters and processes managed by internal and external partners, ensuring full adherence to the Third Party Management Framework.
- Drive automation and optimization of operations by leading reviews and discussions with key stakeholders and clients.
- Ensure the Operational Resiliency plan is updated and implemented in accordance with plan to support Crisis Management Teams for critical business services.
- Escalate concerns/challenges early to take senior support to navigate or remediate the situation in hand.
- Maintain open and transparent communication standards with the teams under management, encouraging new learning, experimentation and a fail‑fast approach for development.
- Coach and mentor people on succession planning for key roles within the organization, rotating people around different job roles to prepare them for senior roles.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in a related role.
- Internal and External Stakeholder management.
- Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication.
- Attention to detail and intermediate problem‑solving skills.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience.
- Master’s degree preferred.
