Public Goods Salcedo is seeking a Pastry Chef to bake daily breads and pastries, scale, mix, shape, and bake according to the recipe and daily timeline.

You will work closely with the Head Chef, maintain a positive, collaborative kitchen environment, and follow established station setups and workflows to ensure timely production.

Ideal candidates are culinary graduates or early-career bakers eager to master dough mechanics in a fast-paced, supportive setting.

Competenze

• 1-2 years of kitchen baking experience or a recent graduate from a baking and pastry program.
• Understanding of scaling, temperatures, handling yeast-raised doughs, and using commercial bakery equipment. Basic knowledge of pastry dough handling is a plus.
• Mindset: a team player who takes pride in making a consistent product and stays focused during repetitive tasks.
• Logistics: ready for early morning shifts, physical work like lifting flour bags, and weekends or holidays.

• Help Bake Daily: Scale, mix, shape, score, proof, and bake our core breads (crusty breads, viennoiseries, soft breads) and pastries according to the recipe and daily timeline.
• Be a Great Teammate: Maintain a positive attitude, help teammates, and keep communication open.
• Follow the Process: Stick to station setups, workflows, and timing charts laid out by the Head Chef.
• Handle Preps & Pastry Finishing: Work on daily prep, dough handling, and final pastry assembly or baking under the guidance of the Head Chef.
• Keep Things Spotless: Clean mixing bowls, proofing baskets, ovens, and workstations to keep the kitchen sanitary.
• Check the Stock: Help receive raw ingredients and commissary deliveries, rotating them properly using FIFO.
