Job summary

Austal Philippines is seeking a painter to perform surface preparation and paint application on vessels, under direct supervision. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and timely delivery in a shipyard setting.

Candidates should have high school education with basic math skills and the ability to read schematics. Certifications for Scissor Lift and Boom Lift are preferred, with experience in spray painting and blasting advantageous.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of surface preparation (power tooling and blasting) and painting works.
• At least high school graduate or high school level.
• Able to do basic mathematical computation.
• Able to interpret schematic drawing.
• Experience in general painting is an advantage but not required.
• Certification in Scissor Lift.
• Knows how to operate Boom Lift.
• Knows how to maintain an airless machine/blasting machine.
• Certified Spray Painters.
• Certified Blaster.

Responsibilities

• Under direct supervision, performs surface preparation and paint application of the vessel.
• Adheres to safety protocols, ensures timely delivery and maintains quality.
• Operates lift equipment (Scissor Lift, Boom Lift) and airless/ blasting machines.
• Maintains tools and reports any maintenance needs.

Job description

With the direct supervision of the Supervisor, performs his technical duties which includes but not limited to surface preparation and paint application of the vessel aligned with safety, timely delivery, and quality.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Knowledge in surface preparation (power tooling and blasting), painitng works
• At least high school graduate or high school level
• Able to do basic mathematical computation
