Job summary

Austal Philippines in Cebu seeks a skilled Carpenter for shipbuilding duties, under direct supervision. You will fabricate carpentry items and install equipment on vessels, ensuring safety, timely delivery, and quality.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of shipbuilding experience, HS diploma, and the ability to read Fit-out drawings. Training certificates are preferred; strong work ethic and problem-solving are valued.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of carpentry work for shipbuilding.
• Minimum high school graduate; formal training preferred.
• At least 2 years of shipbuilding experience.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations.
• Ability to read Fit-out drawings.
• Training certificates or Form 137 are preferred.
• Strong work ethic and professionalism.
• Ability to anticipate and solve problems.
• Experience in carpentry is advantageous but not required.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate carpentry items and install equipment on vessels.

• Assist under supervisor supervision and follow instructions.

Job description

With the direct supervision of the Supervisor, performs his technical duties which includes but not limited to fabricating carpentry items and installation of equipment to the vessel aligned with safety, timely delivery, and quality.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Knowledgeable in carpentry works.
• At least high school graduate or high school level
• 2 years of Shipbuilding experience
• Able to do basic mathematical computation.
• Able to interpret in Fit-out drawing
• Training certificates/Diploma/Form 137
• Work ethic and professionalism
• Anticipate problem solving
• Experience in general carpentry is an advantage but not required
