Job summary

NRI Australia & New Zealand is seeking an OCI Engineer to operate and support the client’s Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) environment day-to-day. You will ensure stability, security, and availability of platform services, working within a Managed Services delivery team.

Key responsibilities include platform operations, identity management, networking, compute/storage, observability, and change control, leveraging Terraform/IaC and Kubernetes where applicable.

Qualifications

• 5 years in cloud/infrastructure operations with hands-on OCI administration.
• Strong knowledge of OCI IAM concepts and policy management.
• Experience with Terraform IaC and Kubernetes (OKE) operations.

Responsibilities

• Day-to-day platform operations: monitor OCI services, respond to alerts, perform triage and resolution.
• Identity & access management: administer users/groups/policies, support SSO/federation, access reviews.
• Networking operations: operate VCNs, subnets, route tables, gateways, NSGs; support VPN/FastConnect and DNS/load balancers.

As part of our Managed Services delivery team, the OCI Engineer will play a key role in operating and supporting the client's Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) environment day-to-day, ensuring stability, security, and availability of platform services.

What You'll Do:

Day-to-day platform operations

• Monitor OCI services and respond to alerts; perform initial triage and resolution.
• Execute standard operating procedures and maintain runbooks/knowledge articles.
• Manage capacity, housekeeping, and routine platform health checks.

Identity & access management

• Administer users, groups, policies, dynamic groups, and access reviews (least privilege).
• Support SSO/federation operations and access requests in line with governance.

Networking operations

• Operate VCNs, subnets, route tables, gateways (IGW/NAT/SGW), NSGs/security lists, DRGs.
• Support connectivity operations (VPN/FastConnect) and DNS/load balancer operational tasks.

Compute & storage operations

• Provision and support compute instances/instance pools; manage patching and standard builds.
• Operate storage services (block/object/file), backups, restores, and retention policies.

Observability & incident management

• Configure/maintain logging, monitoring, alarms, and notifications.
• Participate in on-call/rostered support (if applicable), manage incidents to SLA, and complete post-incident actions.

Change & release execution

• Implement approved changes (patching, configuration updates, lifecycle/decommissioning) following change control.
• Coordinate maintenance windows and service communications.

Security operations support

• Support remediation activities (e.g., hardening, key/secret rotation tasks as directed).
• Assist with audit evidence collection and compliance checks.

What We're Looking For:

• 5 years' experience in cloud/infrastructure operations with hands-on OCI administration.
• Solid knowledge of:
• OCI IAM concepts and policy management
• Cloud networking fundamentals (routing, security controls, private connectivity)
• Monitoring/logging and operational troubleshooting
• Working knowledge of Linux and basic scripting (e.g., Bash/Python) for operational tasks.
• Familiarity with ITIL-aligned processes (incident/change/problem).
• Methodical incident handling; clear communication under pressure.
• Strong attention to detail and discipline with change control.
• Customer-service mindset.
• OCI certifications (Foundations or Operations/Architect associate level).
• Exposure to Terraform/IaC (operational use: applying vetted modules, minor updates).
• Experience supporting OKE/Kubernetes or load balancers in an operations capacity.
