Process Engineering Technician
Job Purpose: The position is responsible for providing manufacturing support through process monitoring, material, and method qualification to ensure defect‑free set‑ups. It includes the initial validation of problematic lots against known standards such as POA/POD, tooling documentation, and local and corporate specifications. The role also supports engineering evaluations and simulations related to customer complaints, material, and equipment qualifications.
Principal Accountabilities
Process Monitoring
- Perform process inspection of set‑ups by conducting monitoring and visual inspection of production lots.
- Perform random inspection of set‑ups and issue material review to document any discrepancies.
Process Line Sustaining
- Provide daily assistance in line sustaining through the initial validation of suspected problematic lots in conformance to local and corporate standards.
- Conduct backtracking of suspected lots, inform inducing station for immediate correction, and advise warehouse personnel when a quality hold is required.
- Assist in the analysis of setup, method or material related problematic lots; perform dimensional measurements to support process engineering validations.
- Perform minor equipment and process optimization with respect to variations in production lots to improve lot performance.
- Perform analysis of possible mixing‑related failures through simulations, quantity mapping, review of process summary, equipment data, and gathering facts from production personnel concerned.
- Generate reports of relevant findings to aid further engineering discussions and improvement.
Engineering Evaluation Support
- Provide engineering assistance in data gathering, defect characterization, and submission of samples for failure analysis (SEM/EDX, SCAT, X‑RAY) of evaluation lots or improvement activities.
- Support engineering qualification such as data gathering during Gauge Repeatability and Reproducibility (GRR) of equipment.
- Support engineering activities such as peel tape test of new cover tape delivery, validation of assembly improvements and action items, and monitoring of Initial Production Management (IPM) lots.
Process Reports (Daily)
- Prepare daily shift reports, monitor first pass yield, and produce weekly and monthly process performance reports.
- Perform documentation updates related to equipment/process performance within the shift.
Specificity and Complexity of the Professional Environment

- The job requires technical engineering skills in basic electronics and statistics.
- This position requires basic computer knowledge.
Education
- Graduate of a BS in Electronics, Computer, Electrical, or Industrial Technology Engineering.
Qualification
- Previous on‑the‑job training that is able to complete the strategic OJT Program of Calamba is a plus.
- 2 years’ experience in semiconductor as a Process Technician.
