Job summary

STMicroelectronics in the Philippines is seeking a Process Engineering Technician to provide manufacturing support through process monitoring, material and method qualification to ensure defect‑free setups.

The role involves initial validation of problematic lots, data gathering for engineering evaluations, and generating reports to aid improvement initiatives. A BS Electronics/Engineering degree and semiconductor experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of BS Electronics, Computer, Electrical or Industrial Technology Engineering.
• 2 years' experience in semiconductor as Process Technician; OJT is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Monitor processes and perform random inspections of setups.

Job description

PROCESS ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN

Job Purpose: The job is responsible for providing manufacturing support through process monitoring, material and method qualification to ensure defect‑free setups. The position is responsible for initial validation of problematic lots in reference to known standards such as POA/POD, tooling documentation, and local and corporate specifications. This position also supports engineering evaluations and simulations related to customer complaints, material and equipment qualifications.

Principal Accountabilities

• PROCESS MONITORING
  • Performs process inspection of setups by conducting monitoring and visual inspection of production lots
  • Performs random inspection of setups and issues material review to document any detected discrepancies
• PROCESS LINE SUSTAINING
  • Provides daily assistance in line sustaining through the initial validation of suspected problematic lots in conformance to local and corporate standards
  • Conducts backtracking of suspected lots with issue, informs inducing station for immediate correction and advises warehouse personnel when quality hold is required
  • Assists in the analysis of setup, method, or material related problematic lots. Performs dimensional measurements to support process engineering validations
  • Performs minor equipment & process optimization relative to variations in production lot to improve lot performance
  • Performs analysis of possible mixing related failures through simulations, quantity mapping, review of process summary, equipment data and immediate gathering of facts from production personnel concerned
  • Generates report of relevant findings in aid of further engineering discussions and improvement
• ENGINEERING EVALUATION SUPPORT
  • Provides engineering assistance in data gathering, defect characterization, and submission of samples for failure analysis (SEM/EDX, SCAT, X‑RAY) of evaluation lots or improvement activities
  • Supports engineering qualification such as data gathering during Gauge Repeatability and Reproducibility (GRR) of equipment
  • Supports engineering activities such as peel tape test of new cover tape delivery, validation of assembly improvements and action items, monitoring of Initial Production Management (IPM) lots
• PROCESS REPORTS (Daily)
  • Prepares daily shift reports, daily monitoring of First Pass Yield, weekly and monthly process performance reports
  • Performs documentation updates related to equipment/process performance within the shift

Education

• Graduate of BS Electronics, Computer, Electrical or Industrial Technology Engineering degree

Qualification

• Previous OJT who able to complete the strategic OJT Program of Calamba is a plus
• 2 years' experience in semiconductor as Process Technician
