AboitizPower invites an experienced Operations Sr. Manager to lead the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the coal plant in Cebu.

You will work with the Operations Head and diverse teams to deliver targets while upholding policy and regulatory requirements. The role emphasizes leadership, strategic planning, and strong analytical skills to optimize plant performance, maintain ISO and SHE standards, and engage with regulators, suppliers, and communities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Registered Mechanical or Electrical Engineer.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in power generation plant operations.
• At least 3 years of leadership experience as an Operations Manager.

Responsibilities

• Sets operational objectives and power generation targets, develops operating programs, and manages departmental resources and budgets.
• Directs operational policy compliance, evaluates plant performance, and implements equipment preventive, corrective, and emergency operating programs.
• Coordinates quality assurance/control programs for boiler water, steam, coal, and environmental parameters while liaising with government agencies, suppliers, and contractors.
• Manages departmental personnel through performance evaluation, career development, organizational design, training programs, and strict enforcement of SHE and ISO management standards.

As Operations Sr. Manager, you will lead the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the coal plant in accordance with company policies, standards, and regulatory requirements and contribute directly to transforming energy for a better world. You will work closely with the Operations Head, Maintenance Department, SHE, RPM, APM, CSU, Coal Handling Manager, WT/Chem Lab Manager, Shift Managers, and external government regulatory agencies to deliver results, create positive community impact, and develop your skills in a supportive, purpose-driven environment.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

• Sets operational objectives and power generation targets, develops operating programs, and manages departmental resources and budgets.

• Exhibits exceptional analytical and decision-making capabilities to resolve operational deviations and continuously optimize plant performance.
• Maintains a rigorous commitment to safety rules, environmental laws, and comprehensive ISO standard compliance (Quality, SHE, Energy, Asset, and Business Continuity Management).
• Displays strong interpersonal and communication skills for coordinating with internal business units, regulatory bodies, and community partners.

What You Will Need:

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Registered Mechanical or Electrical Engineer.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in power generation plant operations.
• At least 3 years of leadership experience as an Operations Manager.

Technical / Functional Skills:

• Expert level knowledge in Coal-Fired Power Plant Operations.
• Above Average knowledge in Safety and Environmental Laws and Regulations, Operations Planning, Leadership and Managerial Skills, Analysis and Decision-Making Skills, Interpersonal and Communication Skills, and Computer Skills (MS Office or similar software).
