Job summary

AboitizPower is seeking a Shift Manager for our Mariveles, Bataan site. You will lead and oversee all plant operations during assigned shifts, coordinating with Operations, Maintenance, Materials Handling, Safety teams, and external grid operators to ensure reliable generation.

You will drive safety, environmental, and ISO quality standards while mentoring shift personnel and optimizing plant performance. This is a managerial role requiring strong leadership and domain expertise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering required.
• Registered Mechanical Engineer or Registered Electrical Engineer required.
• Minimum of 10 years in the Power Generation industry in a supervisory or managerial role.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise shift operations to ensure safe, reliable, and continuous plant generation.
• Manage PTW and LOTO, incident response, and serve as Officer-in-Charge during night shifts and weekends.
• Coordinate operational activities with NGCP, Traders, Materials Handling, Maintenance, and external stakeholders.
• Lead, coach, and develop shift team members while enforcing safety, environmental, and ISO standards.

As Shift Manager, you will lead and oversee all plant operations during assigned shifts and contribute directly to transforming energy for a better world. You will work closely with the Operations, Maintenance, Materials Handling, and Safety teams, as well as external grid operators and traders, to deliver results, create positive community impact, and develop your skills in a supportive, purpose-driven environment.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

• Directing and supervising shift operations to ensure safe, reliable, efficient, and continuous plant generation in compliance with environmental and standard operating procedures.
• Managing Permit to Work (PTW) and Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) issuances, incident response, and serving as Officer-in-Charge during night shifts and weekends.
• Coordinating operational activities with NGCP, Traders, Materials Handling, Maintenance, and external stakeholders.
• Leading, coaching, and developing shift team members while enforcing strict safety, environmental, and ISO quality management standards.

To Succeed in this Role, we need someone who:

• Demonstrates expert-level leadership, crisis management, and decision-making capabilities during plant incidents.
• Shows strong communication and administrative skills to effectively coordinate across internal departments and external entities like NGCP.
• Exhibits analytical rigor in monitoring log sheet data, operational trends, and operational parameters to optimize plant performance.
• Maintains high personal integrity and commitment to safety, health, environmental compliance, and asset protection.

What You Will Need:

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Registered Mechanical Engineer or Registered Electrical Engineer.
• At least 10 years of experience in the Power Generation Industry in a Supervisory or Management role.

Technical / Functional Skills:

• Expert knowledge in Coal-Fired Power Plant Operations and Maintenance.
• Proficiency in Enterprise Asset Management (EAM), Permit to Work (PTW) systems, MS Office, and Plant Information Management Systems.
• Strong knowledge of Safety, Health, and Environmental laws and ISO management standards (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, etc.).
