Job summary

Hammerjack Pty Ltd in the Philippines is seeking a Software Engineer to join our Information Systems team. You'll work across full-stack development, systems integration, and internal tooling, taking ownership of features end-to-end and contributing to technical decisions along the way.

This role suits an engineer with a few years of hands-on experience who can work independently, occasionally guide juniors, and apply AI/LLM tools to real engineering challenges—from AI-assisted development

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of professional software development experience.
• Proficiency in at least one back-end language (PHP/Laravel or similar) and one front-end framework (React).
• Experience using AI coding tools (Cursor, ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot) for coding or debugging.
• Understanding of REST APIs and third-party integrations.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain features across front-end (React) and back-end (PHP/Laravel) with minimal supervision.
• Contribute to the design of internal tools, dashboards, and automation workflows.
• Implement and maintain APIs and third-party integrations (billing systems, ticketing, messaging, identity verification, etc.).
• Write clean, testable, well-documented code and actively participate in code reviews.
• Use AI coding assistants (Cursor, Claude, Copilot) effectively as part of your daily workflow, and help share best practices with the team.
• Build AI-powered features — e.g., calling LLM APIs for text processing, summarization, or automation — with some autonomy over implementation approach.
• Debug and troubleshoot moderately complex issues across the stack, including with the help of AI tools where appropriate.
• Provide guidance and code review feedback to junior engineers.
