Job summary

Vertex Search is seeking a seasoned Project Manager – Powerhouse to lead the construction of a hydropower powerhouse and its supporting systems in the Philippines. You will direct multi-disciplinary teams, oversee contractors and interface with design, E&M and tunnelling leads to keep execution on schedule and on budget.

The ideal candidate has a Civil/Structural/Mechanical engineering degree (PRC licence preferred), 20+ years in large-scale infrastructure, with at least 10 years in a leadership

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural or Mechanical Engineering required.
• PRC licence preferred for the role.
• 20+ years in large-scale infrastructure projects, including at least 10 years in a leadership position on powerhouse or major industrial facilities.
• Experience with EPC and multi-package execution models.
• Strong MS Project/Primavera P6 and Power BI proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Own delivery of the powerhouse construction package from start to finish, including excavation, structural works, E&M installation and interface integration.
• Oversee day-to-day site operations to align with design, schedule, quality, safety and cost targets.
• Direct and coordinate all contractors, subcontractors and engineers on site.
• Collaborate with design teams, E&M specialists and tunnelling/underground leads to maintain interfaces.
• Lead construction planning, sequencing and resource allocation for critical path activities.
• Track progress, resolve site issues, and implement recovery plans as needed.
• Ensure compliance with technical specs, standards and safety requirements.
• Produce progress reports, dashboards and stakeholder updates for management.
• Support inspections, audits, testing and commissioning with QA/QC and E&M teams.
